I am always fiddling around in the Wiki and recently found out how to see the most poular pages

So here is the quiz - Two questions:
Give me the top five pages in terms of page hits for the following categories:
  • SAK models
  • Wiki non model pages - such as menu pages etc eg. Wenger 65mm main page
If you do know how to check ..... don't ..... Just guess    :tu:

Clue to position 1 for question 2 - Should not be too hard to work out if you think about it    ;)

Answers in a couple of days depending on level of interest/responses !!

However you are missing No. 3 in the list
Clues: Needs a little lateral thinking, it is closely related to one other SAK already identified, and it is not a Soldier model!
The other one is No.10 in the list, and is a pretty popular model - especially here!

The one everyone missed was No. 3 in the model list ...... The Champion     :pok:

Surprises for me were:
  • The Champion
  • The Tool page
  • Kinda surprised the Soldier 1961 is such an out and out winner !!
  • The Victorinox Knife List page in at No. 7 - I never even knew this page existed until someone pointed out a minor error in it last year - There's a link to it at the bottom the of home page
  • The Hook - Wow the second most popular tool page - I guess everyone is trying to work out what it is for   :o    ;)
  • And the Trekker - Maybe just because I am not so familiar with the 111mm range

As you can see above we hit 300k posts in the SAK forum in this thread    :ahhh   - and goodness knows how many hits
- So it is also interesting that the second most popular page in the Wiki - only has just over 300k hits
Shows the relative use of our two systems ......
I guess a forum, due to the chatty nature of a forum, has so much more traffic

Oh and a PS:
Our hit counter in the WIKI has not been working for a little while - So these figures may be a little out!

I only started using the wiki really often a few months ago. I might have seen that page a year ago but I honestly can't tell.
I've felt a bit frustrated with it at times but always found what I was looking for in the end. It's rather functional once you get used to its structure.

It was pretty depressing seeing all the new Delemont pages with zero hits - I was wondering if anyone is even looking at them
Good news is they are getting about 3-5 hits per day

The order of the most popular pages is pretty much as it was - See table  above
So a couple new questions now we can see the hits again

1. How many hits per day does the Wiki main page get ?- I found this number pretty surprising
2. What surprising model has entered the top ten model pages in the 8 or so days since the counter has been working again  - Clue it was already mentioned in this thread!!
3. The hit counter was turned on again about 8 days ago - How many WIki page views since then - Not sure I believe this one !!

1. The home page is getting over 500 hits per day - Wow I know the internet world is a big place but that seems a lot!!

2. The Voyager, Huntsman Lite and Lumberjack are all in the ten most popular pages since the hit counter started again

3. The stats say that there have been 373,000 page views since the stats were switched on again - that's about 33,000 per day

- Seems to high to me!! There are 760 pages in the Wiki - So average of 43 views per day per page.

Impressive numbers! I think you have to also take into account the average time spent on a page to have a better idea of the proportion of page views by bots.
