on: December 14, 2017, 02:58:13 PM
Anyone excited yet? I was not convinced by VII but rather liked Rogue One... so I got tickets for tonight... 5h and counting :D

I have not watched any trailers :ahhh
Biggest surprise for me is that it will be in 3D :ahhh
It wouldn't be the internet without people complaining.

Looking forward to it,  but unsure when I'll be able to see it.

Looking forward to your opinion E, and Grant too.  :salute:

You sure... My Episode VII review was not that favorable

Oh, and I re-watched Ep.7 (or at least parts) during lunch break and noticed that Rey, after escaping prison, first holds the blaster with the left hand, then in the right hand. Obviously, she has no idea what she is doing... still the better shot than the stormtroopers

Am I the only one that finds the way the actress moves weird? I can't explain it but all her movements seem a bit off. Maybe it has something to do with digital effects/green screen?

I hadn't noticed but will have to pay attention to that when I re-watch.

The thing that bothered me about E7 was the dialogue towards the beginning between Poe and Finn and Finn's Nickelodeon-esque dialogue and attitude...   Didn't seem to fit for me... Then Han's cheap death... the repeating episode 4 themes didn't really bother me.    I am really looking forward to E8.  I think it will be better.

Rogue One was much better than E8 IMO

I was in the mall earlier today at around 5:30, and all I can say is what a lineup of folks waiting to get in and see the movie which aired at 7 pm I think. Many of them in costume. I like Star Wars but not enough to dress the part.
A little Leatherman information.

I'll have to wait a while, haven't seen the inside of a movie theater in 15+ years.

Even now that I've stopped smoking and can get through the 2 hours without stepping out, I'm completely unable to handle the inevitable inconsiderate in the audience.....too likely to take action  :twak:

........and I do hope I'm not disappointed........might just be me but they're not epic anymore

So I am not hallucinating?  :D

Though now I wonder why I couldn't find anything about it on the net.  :ahhh

It's like an uncanny valley of movement. It's like your internal model of movement does not agree with the way she does it. You are all prepared for her to push of strongly in to a lepa but she just strolls through it. And you prepare for sprint but nope it's a stroll.

Saw the first one in the theater as a kid. I was watching Star Trek 're-runs, summer of '77, hanging on Kirk' s every word in the prologue. Till my dad comes home, sees what I'm watching and says:

"You like that Star Trek, huh? Yeah, so did I. Go get your brother. I'm gonna show you something that makes Captain Kirk look like Alice in Wonderland!"

And then, I had my mind blown into hyperspace...

And that first one...Will always be known as STAR WARS to me.

All this "Episode blah, and A New Hope" crap? Don't give a dingo' s kidney for that.

Ep. 7, good effects. Looked more real and tangible than any of the prequels.

Ep.7 fails:
Hmmm, young desert dwelling scavenger meets round, plucky comic relief droid on a mission with secret plans. They escape the planet IN THE MILLENNIUM FALCON, meet up with an older sage dude with some street cred, get taken prisoner, old dude confronts bad guy in black, old dude gets killed by bad guy in black while our heroes watch, they escape, make it to base, attack big round giant planet killing laser weapon. Yay. Which movie did  I just describe?

And all they did was scrunch the young learner meets sage Jedi scene into the end of this movie instead of near the first half of the next one.

Ep.8 predictions, not spoilers. (By the way, I will be pissed if I'm right)...
Young learner convinces old master to train them, while heroes are on the lam, pursued by man in black, getting their assets kicked long the way, until a premature showdown between man in black and young hero occurs. Someone loses an arms, and a dark family secret is revealed

Um, do I bother going to this show, or do I sign on as writer of the next installment for the salary?

All I'll say is that if you think that's how episode 8 is going to go down, you'll be surprised.  :pok:
