Most of you have seen the original, some might even have one. There was a limited run of them made by SF, and they went for $500 if I remember correctly. Now they come out with this http://www.lapolicegear.com/sutiulcovaou.html (can't find it on SF site) the asking price is $239, it's not made out of Titanium and the only "cool" features it has are the fine output adjustment and the "a lot of light in a small package". I'd like to have the original (made out of Ti) and I wouldn't pay this much for a "knock off".

I like Surefires but no way. I do like the simplicity of the interface, but still no!

After carrying my Fenix LOD Q4 for almost a year I can honestly say I'm not a big fan of twisties, which the Titan employs.

I'm not a fan of twisties either, but when the light is a twisty so that a rheostat can be used to offer infinitely variable output adjustment, I don't mind as much. I think a twisty is the best way to go with a feature like that.

I think Paul Kim is trying to out do Don McLeish.  Don pretty much has a cult following on Candlepowerforums which I think started with his McLux PD III flashlight.  He started out making them out of Aluminum and they sold for $200 to $250.  Now Don only makes Titanium lights and they sell in the $500 price range.  Don has made a pretty good retirement business from it and I would imagine Paul is trying to do the same thing.  Retire in Maui!!  Who would not want to do that.

if you scroll down the page of this link the two men standing waste deep in the ocean are Mr. Kim (on the left) and Mr. Mcleish (on the right)

What kills you is not the initial price, but maintenance cost.

BTW, it is not the first continous variable-output light, as claimed.  The Peak LED Solutions First Responder was released before the Titan.
