Baoding Exercise Balls, anyone use them?

Well just like the subject says, anyone use them, or have a pair? The Mrs bought me a pair like 2-3yrs back, of course there the simple stainless steel with the chimes inside. I got to get a diff pair, I gotta start using them more often but I can’t stand the chimes. I’ve seen they make them solid stainless but another thing about these is the smell they leave, idk if it’s just the cheap steel? Yet I’ve also seen them marble, stone, or even wood, I was just wondering what’s good?

I kinda like the wood, but no weight to them? Marble I heard chips? Yet no info on stone? So any info on any of them would be greatly appreciated..

I used to have a set of them a while ago and I found them very relaxing.  Everyone around me found them very frustrating.   :ahhh

Honestly I like them and I find they are an excellent stress reliever as well as promoting circulation and dexterity in your hands.  They really helped my hands get better after various injuries to them, something I did an awful lot in my younger days. 

I had gotten them at a kiosk at the mall right before Christmas and used them almost constantly for the next couple of years.  I was fascinated by the guys that can really work them, but never got beyond two balls and just going foreward and back.  I wanted to be like the poor guy that did all the work for David Bowie in Labyrinth*, but never really worked towards it and so never really got there.  Nowadays there are lots of videos and instructional videos and the like on YouTube that could really get you going.

*For those that don't know, that wasn't David Bowie spinning the glass spheres.  He tried but just couldn't master it, so they ended up using the guy who had been brought in to teach David Bowie, except that he was hiding behind Bowie with his arm sticking out under Bowie's armpit.

What kind did you use, the normal ones with the spring thingys inside? I just can’t stand them, I gotta get something different but what?
I don’t think I’ll ever be like some of these people that just make them flow as if they have superpowers, but I gotta work the hands, the one was twitching last night.

It’s worth a shot, the cheap chiming ones are only like $5-8, but heck if you have golf balls, there the same size, or even mini pool balls, another thing I was looking into last night, cause I’m after something that has a little weight to them, won’t chip or crack and are around 1-1/2” the same size as a golf ball or a set of mini pool balls, but I’m kinda leaning to solid stainless steel bearings, just not sure of the smell, but definetly has the weight! Just over a pound for two!

I've got a pair of the stainless steel balls with the chimes.  I used them as part of a street act where I was playing the part of a Janissary to an Ottoman sultan and he would tell everyone to pay me no mind because I was just a eunuch, and I would puff up with pride and say yes, I am unique. Then he would correct me and tell everyone no, he is snippy, snippy, and he has no, you know (pointing towards crotch) at which point I would pull a silk pouch out of my sash with the balls in it and clang them together and say Yes I do, right here. It was funnier in person though.  Whenever I think of Baoding balls (or worry balls) though I think of Captain Queeg in the Caine Mutiny.
