Just finished rereading Samuel Eliot Morison's "The European Discovery of America: The Northern Voyages and The Southern Voyages (two volumes). Great books, with the notes as extensive and readable as the text. And the research is awe-inspiring.Morison was a history prof at Harvard, seaman, Pulitzer Prize-winning author, and official U S Navy historian during WWII. Not too many like him around any more.Will have to keep an eye out for your two recommendations. Thanks.
