91mm Mod Question
on: January 30, 2018, 04:18:16 PM
Hello all, I have been thinking of diving into the world of modding, and have been designing my ideal toolset for a 91mm sak. So the configuration I have been thinking of so far is:

93mm awl with 91mm blade and cork screw on backside
scissors with hook on backside
cap lifter and pruning blade(93mm?). I'm not sure what other tools would fit here and don't need the 91mm awl

Would this configuration be possible without a whole lot of extra modding of individual parts?

The 93mm awl should be a drop in fit.

I think that the pruning blade is possible.  Not sure though.
Hooked, like everyone else. ;)

All hail the hook!

Pabs is right - the awl will drop right in, as will the pruning blade.

I've added the 93mm awl to a couple of 91mm mods and the easiest thing I found is to keep the awl on the back spring as well.

Awl in awl it's easier awl round.

Thanks guys! I was hoping that they would just be a drop in fit. It'll be my first mod, so I'm not ready for anything too crazy yet. Hopefully I'll be earning my mod badge soon  >:D

I'm trying to work out what happens to the pruner blade when you put it on a 91mm opener backspring. It should work (maybe with a bit of filing the tang and/or bending the spring).  You'll probably need a washer to make up the thickness too.
