Because some people believe that BIGGER is better.   I wish my wife didn't believe that. :D

well i sold it so it dont get dusty on a shelf, i guess that is better if some else can give it the use it deserve and the swisstool thing just pop in to my mind, maybe its o so an excuse to get me the new one with the clip-point knife

i confess, maybe this is not the most useful threat, i just wanna share

regards :salute:

what was not to your liking with the Spirit?
cons, pros? just out of curiosity, think of us as cats!

you have your reasons and we will respect that ;)
(most of us!)

I'm still upset it doesn't have a ruler on it!

well, no complain what so ever, but i really like the OH knife of the leathermans and the heavy duty capabilities of the surge so it was a no brainier for me, originally i wasnt planning to sell the spirit, but since i wasnt give it any use and the opportunity came  i sold it, thats it

i actually like the spirit very much, the rounded handles, the light weight, the polish finish, the selection of tools, etc.... is just that for my budget ill better use that money to get me some NEW shinny things :D, i guess i cant afford being a collectionist even if i want to :(

i only keep the gifts from friends, that i never sell, like my mecanic :)

Get another spirit. Well I'm waiting for the clip point blade and scissors model to come out (model spirt x???). I love my Swiss Tool and it doesn't get as much use as it used to, not edc but I will never sell it.

Don't let these guys push you around, Cliosguy.  ;) :D  You're not the only one who's sold his Spirit. I really liked the Spirit but its slick drivers I couldn't live with. I EDC a Cybertool 34 paired with either the Griptillian or Leek and I've been much happier this way.

I have the same preference with you cliosguy, I love one handed blade opening. If you do not want to carry a folder with a multitool the best multitool for you are ones that have a one handed opening blade. I have three of them the SURGE, Charge and the Alinghi.
The SURGE is what I carry at work but as you have read on other threads its REALLY BIG if you don't mind the weight I suggest the SURGE.
The Charge is the small brother of the SURGE, the difference is it doesn't have a awl and the scissors are inside and of course it is very much lighter and smaller than the SURGE, if you are not going to see heavy use and abuse the Charge is perfect, I carry this one when I go to town or city.
As for the Alinghi, it the tool I show my friends to impress them  :D Don't get me wrong its a strong multitool, but its just too dang beautiful and expensive to use. ;)

i dont mind taking the surge anywhere i really dont feel it bulky or heavy(not to much at least, i always know is there :)) so im considering a much cheaper ranger or OHT(the alinghi is kinda expensive for me) or maybe just for the sake of it i import this one :D:

Looks good but I don't think it will tolerate heavy use, go for the SURGE.

The Alinghi is too darn useful NOT to use  (and the price has actually gone DOWN, at least on felinevet's site).

I use it, but don't abuse it,  and it still looks pretty much good as new.

Just used my SURGE close to its limit, cut a relatively thick wire have to use both hand full strength just to cut it then have to bend the wire to fit the locking end of screw. So glad its the SURGE's EDC rotation would have damage my other multitools, guess I dodge a bullet. :)

I sold my Spirit and haven't missed it... I have a lot more time now that I'm not constantly wiping the fingerprints off it's shiny surface!  :D
