Purchased a shed.
on: March 05, 2018, 07:48:37 PM
I purchased a shed based on reviews online.  I decided on the Rubbermaid Roughneck 7X7 from Lowes.  It was on sale which I think means this might be discontinued  :-\.  Getting parts could be an issue..................  back to that.

The box it comes in is 350LBS.  It filled my full size truck bed.  When I opened the box this morning and inventoried the parts per the supplied instruction/parts manual .  Does anyone actually check stuff before letting it out their doors?

One part was missing,  a floor piece.  Which means I cannot build this shed until Rubbermaid sends the part.  If this is discontinued the as I was saying above...........  this could be an issue .  I'm not quite there yet so  I'll hold off.

When I call the 800 # provided in the manual I'm prompted to answer if I'm over 50 years of age .  WTF.  I have to be over 50 to buy or use this product?  I don't want to be part of your survey Rubbermaid I just want the missing part.

I decide to email them.  I fill out the online form and hit send.  Its been over 5 mins and the form shows still sending.  What the heck Rubbermaid?  If this item was small enough for me to return I'd have driven back to Lowes to return it.  Theres comparable sheds in this price range.  I certainly dont want to wait to build it and since the form isn't processing who knows how long before I even get the part.

I very well my be jumping the gun but come on Rubbermaid.  Really?  Its such a massive part to have left it out the box.

Just checked Rubbermaids page where I am to send them an email.  Message not sent .  Come on Rubbermaid seriously.  How hard is this?

No instructions.  :ahhh
Hooked, like everyone else. ;)

By the time Rubbermaid gets my email and sends the part I'm thinking I should have just built it myself from lumber.  The message is still showing <<< sending >>>>.

That sucks. Maybe you should try the 800 number again, even with a survey it will be faster than waiting for the email

Hope you get it sorted soon

Usually with kitset sheds here you have to buy the timber floor separately as you may wish to fix it to a concrete pad instead.
Also, why are there no 'before' shed pics?  :pok:

There was a part missing in our roll-up musquito net for the roof window.

My dad drove back to the store. I thought he was going to order it.

He came back 30min later with the right part...

He sneakily took it from the store's demo model

I have a pad already set in place.  Email still processing.   Now I'm just curious how long it will take to actually go thru?

I'll post up pics in a bit.  I was hoping to post pictures of the assembly.

I would love to go back to store and return the whole darn thing.  I've already opened it but I'm seriously considering it.  There were 2 more on the rack.

Are you sure it needs the timber floor piece then?

Not sure what your asking?

The shed comes with its own floor.  Its 2 parts, one part was missing.

I'm placing this whole shed onto a concrete pad.

Me too.

Finally got thru without having to disclose anything.  Not the biggest fan of their initial question asked.  Lets see what happens, I'm currently on hold.

OK, gotcha.
The sheds I am used to wouldn't have any timber floor if it was going on a concrete pad.

Perhaps only a certain age group refuse to answer that question, so by not answering it, you have answered it for them.

Ok.  Their site sucks.  I spoke to a lovely young man who ordered my missing part and its en route.  My shed build will commence later this week.

Yes I was already set to have it up by now and filled with my garden stuff plus some misc stuff.  It got some good reviews and wasn't hard on the wallet.  We'll see how well it holds up in this Cali sunshine.

HAHA.  I almost did but while I am impatient I can wait.  Rubbermaid CS was good once I got them on the line.

Ha I was just about to post that one!
The one I posted before was on the Roughneck 7x7 page on their site, I guess it's a generic video for all the Roughnecks.
