I know Stayglow doesn't (probably because since they're solid, they use old molds), but I think translucent scales still have the slot.

I have an old Scientist that came with "Plus" scales that have the ink pen but no hole for a straight pin.

I've got nothing to add other than I love the pin hole in the scale. Such wonderful addition.
