Well the Tesla is 10-15k more expensive after all...
Even if it gets 126 MPGe.  :P
And 0-60 in 5 seconds...
2 year waiting list?!  :ahhh

More like $60k more.

I guess it's better at pissing contests than my car, but I'm too practical to spend money on that.
I thought we were talking about the Model 3.
Comparing a 30k sedan with a Model S... Apples ‘n Oranges

Not really, there are $30k electric cars on the market that I would get before a Tesla. Apples and apples.

If ostentatious floats your boat, get a Tesla by all means!  :tu:

Cool. What’s the range on it? Sorry if it was mentioned in the video, but I’m hard of hearing.
There wasn't really much info in the video. I think it's only about 100km.
But but... French girls.... :dd:

Did you just change your name Pabs? Can I still call you Pabs, or is that too informal?

My new name translates to Mister Pablo, so Pabs is still the informal name you can call me.  :tu:

Yes, but it's tiny. Chevy Volt or Bolt is a little bigger (and more expensive @ $35k), but still not $80-90k!

Well it used to be reserved for nobility, but not anymore.
The “Lord” translation still sort of fits though, as I’ve given myself a title.

You’re fixated on the Tesla Model S, aren’t you?  :D
Tesla makes more than one car, and it’s the same price as the Volt/Bolt, it’s the one I was talking about in my earlier comments.

Um, not really.  :D

I didn't know they make a cheaper one, I must have been blinded by the hype.  8)

Never saw the point of the sedan, give me a hatchback any day. I don't see the point of trucks for most people though, especially at the rate they are sold. How many people actually need those huge trucks?

Never saw the point of the sedan, give me a hatchback any day. I don't see the point of trucks for most people though, especially at the rate they are sold. How many people actually need those huge trucks?

Having driven pickup trucks most of my life I would tend to agree, I needed one for a lot of things, but most of the time it was virtually empty. The trouble is if you need to haul something like firewood, hay, furniture, appliances, large auto parts, etc. etc., or need to tow a heavy trailer, and you don't have one, it can be a problem. I know folks who have them and put caps on the bed and carpet kits inside and ride their dogs in back or haul groceries, and thats about it. I can do that with my car (and much more economically). Some folks feel safer in a bigger vehicle too, and the visibility is better, but my car has a good safety rating, so I don't worry about it, and driving lower to the ground takes a different approach to traffic sometimes, but that's easy to get used to.

I see the advantages of a hatchback vs. a sedan, but I really don't need one, or a station wagon either. I think it just depends on what configuration works best for the individual, and in my case a sedan does everything I need it to, and if it doesn't, I still have an old pickup truck that is inexpensive to maintain and keep, but I drive it less and less nowadays. I can fit most anything I need in the trunk of my car, and I have a seat cover for my dog who owns the back seat most of the time (he's 100lbs.), and he's fine with that. I could probably get by with a smaller car than I have, but I like to be comfortable, and most of the compacts feel cramped with limited rear seating (and why they are better as hatchbacks). A midsize sedan fits me better, and the bigger sedans (full size) are all less efficient and (for me) unnecessary. A midsize station wagon would probably be fine too, but I just don't have any use for that much cargo space.
