My source for all things medieval is Dungeons and Dragons.
For things in the future, Warhammer 40k 4ever.  :salute:
Hooked, like everyone else. ;)

All hail the hook!

For the present, Vampire: Masquerade.

You should try Shadowrun (or Cyberpunk) for close future...

History buff reporting, sir. Love history, mostly Antiquity.
Live in Marseille, 2600 years old, oldest city in France, so lots of nice places to visit.

Well, well, well, some RPG-fans here!  :D I myself played a lot all through the 90's, the titles you mentioned and some other, fantasy based systems/worlds. Still love the concept, the game, but unfortunately education and then adult life scattered the company.

Very nice! Many of us here in Europe are very lucky to live at places where you can see and touch history going back many-many hundreds and even thousands of years. I just love when I can think that wow, I'm treading the same ground where Roman citizens walked, how this little street was there in the middle ages as well, or who and when put those stones into the city wall. Fascinating stuff.

Ah yes, the ancient Greek city of Massalia, battled over by Rome and Carthage  :)

Actually, Massilia was in the middle of the two western superpowers, but not a simple bystander. Massilia got their "Friend and Ally" status from Rome as early as the 5th century BC and helped Rome on several occasions with their war fleet against common enemy Carthage, at a time where Roman naval power was quite harmless.  Massilia was the proud witness of Greek culture in the western half of the Mediterranean ; launched expeditions that reached Iceland and Sub-Saherian coasts and founded many colonies in the Mediterranean. A bit too proud, perhaps, as the city leaders didn't fathom the victor of Gaul could/would ever attack them if they maintained a semi-neutral stance. Wrong move. Caesar did take the town, more because it had helped the Republicans, i.e. Ahenobarbus, than because he felt the need to battle a 500 year-old ally.
