on: May 24, 2018, 12:06:06 AM
Anyone have special keepsakes that are dear to them ? My grandfather and I had a special relationship, these are his Timex , Kabar Peanut and what I believe is a Parker pen , I will hand these down to my youngest son

This is a nice thread idea, kman! Thank you for sharing.

I'll take a photo of some keepsakes tomorrow. I have my grandfather's pocket Ben pocket watch and craftsman stockman(well used) somewhere. :)

Edit: correction.

Those are some neat items.  I don't think I have such items.

Looks like a Parker pen to me, Kman.  Which symbol is engraved right about where you would rest your thumb on top of the thumb button?

I will check for that stamp , I did not see anything at first , may be worn off , He was a cabinet maker and it was always in a pocket protector.

Here are two of my keepsakes from my grandfather on my father's side.
His Westclox Pocket Ben and Craftsman pocket knife. It is very well used, but my grandparents kept EVERY box everything came in. Including the plastic box for the knife.

An old Boker my DAD picked up in Germany when he was stationed there right after WWII. Carried as part of his flying gear for the next 50 years.

I have my first sak(retired) which my grandfather gave to me, I broke it waaaay back but when he passed I got his sak, the one he showed me and introduced me in to the world of sak, I kinda did something I didn’t want to do but did anyway, I had his taken apart and used one tool to fix mine, then had another tool to make my custom, and then had the scales made into a little display, this way no matter what a piece of his will be a part of something. I also have a pen and a hat of his..
