Logo Identification Request
on: May 28, 2018, 06:22:19 PM
I know I've seen this Logo before, but I can't find it.
I did the Google reverse lookup that someone had mentioned in another post.
Can anyone ID this Logo?
Thank you.
Rest in peace ColoSwiss, you will always be remembered.

First thing that came to mind, is that a stylized B or a modified lowercase Beta?
Hooked, like everyone else. ;)

All hail the hook!

Here is the same logo:

https://m.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Unknown-TRIANGLE-B-ON-WORLD-Advertising-Uniform-Patch-68K-/163038965642?_mwBanner=1&_rdt=1

The seller however also doesn't know what it is.

The triangle may symbolise "delta" and the B "beta".
Maybe a sorority/fraternity thing?

You both have the "beta" idea, I'll start searching that too.  Thank you.
Wow, the patch, a match no doubt!

I think these have three letters usually. (And to me it seems to be a simple triangle rather than a delta).

Could be. I agreee it does look too simple for a "delta". Who knows..

Oh... wait

My google-fu got nothing...  :-[

I tried multiple combinations of beta, delta, triangle, globe, victorinox, swiss army knife, etc etc

Sorry.  :-\

Thank you for trying...I was using those words too.  That logo looks so familiar, but I can't catch a break on finding out what it is.

The first thing I thought of was Smith Services, a local company specializing in electromechanical work (motors, gearboxes, and their electronic control systems). They're currently owned by Timken.  I doubt that's an older version of thier logo. Though a double S would make sense if it were.  Timken also had a ton of SAKs, but Smith Services got bought by them relatively recently (in the past 5 years).

They all have the delta/triangle upside down.

Obviously yes, but the pictures show a lot of emblems/patches/badges with the same yellow "globe"-logo. So I think looking into emblems of similar (youth?) organizations is the way to go.

The picture I mentioned earlier, showing the exact same logo on a patch also suggest that the logo on the knife originates from such a patch.

Ok, found that one in the google search, one with a sword in it... It's for Seventh Day Adventist youth organization, bit like Scouts

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pathfinders_(Seventh-day_Adventist)

Might be a similar organization?

At first I thought maybe it was an older Breitling logo, but I did a little looking around and I don't think so.

Sorry.
