In another thread I'm testing these plier tools. Here, I'm selling the extras that I've reviewed and don't want to keep. The rejects, if you will. I'm not asking much. Shipping is a flat rate $3. If you're on the West Coast, I'll lose some money, but I'm not about to charge a lot for these tools or for shipping. Most of these were rejected simply because the cutters didn't work very well. Cutters are important to me. They might not be to you.
Bench Pro: Tools oiled and easily extracted. Flat drivers filed to remove round edges and to match existing driver profiles on some precision bits I have. Tool has been re-peened so it will not come apart. Jaws operate smoothly, but not loosely. They just need to be worked in, as the tool has recently been re-peened. Not the best machined jaws, you won't be pulling out arm hairs. Spring is not the strongest. Cutters can manage 18ga and 16ga stranded wire so long as the insulation is not too thick, but fail on 12ga. Should be fine for romex. Bottle opener has been given an edge and the profile of the arm re-worked with a file, so that it will actually open a bottle. Also sharpened one of the wire stripper notches. The serrated blade and bottle opener are chrome plated, which is odd. Still appear to be stainless steel underneath though. File is useless for anything except fingernails and the serrated blade is not very sharp. Tools have minimal side play. $5, no sheath.
Space Shuttle: Tools oiled, but the bottle opener is an absolute nail-breaker to extract. The tool has been taken apart and any bad peens have been corrected. Bottle opener blade has a factory ground edge, and is useful as a second blade. Main blade is sharp, but has some brown discoloration on the blade, but doesn't effect the edge. The serrated blade is quite sharp, and the file average. The backspring driver is pretty decent. Jaws are precise enough to pull out arm hairs. Backspring for the main blade is weak. Main blade has some side play. I'd peen the pivot rivet more, but the tools become more difficult to extract, and none of the other tools have significant side play. Metal side plates have lots of wear and use. $5, no sheath.
I will be listing more of these as time goes on and I make more reviews and decide which tools I am keeping and which I am offloading onto you poor fools ... err, my brethren.
As an added bonus, for an extra dollar you can have a Random Crappy Tool from my stash of random junk that I should probably have just thrown away. (Isn't that enticing!?)
