Wenger Collection:The Life(6 knives)

Don't post here a whole lot even though I have a goodly number of SAK's;most of which are run of the mill.
Came upon this set today and decided to buy it. Apparently made around 1989 in a limited edition of 6,000 pieces(not sure how,"limited" that is).This set is #2184 and each knife has a different silhouette scene on it.Comes in a nice wooden box and is even in the original cardboard box.Price on the outside was $69.99USD. I paid $50USD for it. Thought it was a good price but I am woefully ignorant of SAK values. Not looking to sell;just to get an idea of it's worth for my records.

(AFAIK, the current price for this series of knives is about CHF 90...120 per one. I have seen the whole set on ebay for about $800 USD.)

Incredible find!

I've passed on buying many single ones with no box because they were going for outrageous prices. The whole set in its box for about USD 800 is about right... although you could ask for more and still find a buyer.

WOW! Thanks for all the replies. I had no idea that they were that pricey. Still going to hold onto them even though I could use the money as I have my summer tax bill due next month and that is slightly over two thousand dollars.
