So.. I might not have been correct in the title, it was gorilla tape..
But anyhow, me and my family was on a daytrip and right before the last stop my jeep gave a warning about coolant running low. I drive an old jeep so this is nothing weird during really hot summer days and about once every summer I have to top it off. I figured I would do it when we stop for ice cream. I did however hold a close eye to the temp gage.
When we arrived and I was to top it of I noticed that is was fluid where there should not be any. The top hose from the radiator had a 3cm long hole in it. We had 69km left before getting home and non of the car parts shop near by or on the way had that hose in stock..
Lucky I had a small roll of gorilla tape in my vest pocket and patched it up, filled up the system and hoped for the best!
We had ice cream, looked at an old castle and then headed home again. I had an even closer eye on the temp gage and drove carefully all the way home. No problem at all! The temp was right where it should and I when getting home I was curious and refilled the system to where it was when we left. About 0.5 litres had dropped out on the way home.
New hose ordered and should be here tomorrow and we will use the other jeep until it arrives.
This was my last gorilla tape, so I made a new roll of ducktape to put back in my vest
