Yep, I did it again ...

Show content
I entered a shop and left with all the stuff they had ...

Show content
All their Wengers stuff, to be more specific ...

Went to Austria and Liechtenstein this summer and found diddly-squat, a week later I find these NIB Wengers in a store a stone's throw away from my home ...  ::)

And what's even better ...

Show content
I got all of them at 50% discount  :D

And even better yet ...

Show content
I even got this one for free, since it had a crack in the scales  :D

When I opened the box, I noticed the crack right away, and told it to the nice lady at the counter, she said: "Oh, can't sell it like that, I'll have to throw it away ..."
My reaction was something along the line of:

So I got it for free  :2tu:

Oh, almost forgot ...

I also got this old boy:

Also at a 50% discount  :D.

Old style leather sheath ...

Oh and ...

Don't say I didn't warn you about the spoilers  :P

Thanks guys  :salute:.

The ones on the right are quite easy to identify, but for the ones on the left I'll have to check the SakWiki ...

P.S.: My wife bought the 3 nailclippers on the left (but I think I'm going to keep one for my collection  :P), and my oldest son bought the Evogrip 10 and the Evolution 81 (which has very nice, red translucent scales, with the protective stickers still on them).

"I'll throw it away"?
Do they not know the scales can be replaced?

Very nice haul, Top-Gear! :like:

Especially that Crunch! Looks like a first year 1999 judging by the box. I could be wrong though. What is the date stamp in the handles?

Reminds me of when I found a NIB 99' Crunch at a flea market for almost nothing($5 if I remember correctly, but wasn't more than $10). I had just started getting interested in MTs as a hobby. Didn't really know what it was until I got home. I thought it was a fake LM or something. :ahhh

Nice find, Top-Gear! :multi:
The early ones are fabled to be of higher quality and have USA on the blade tang, before LM was required to remove USA from their tools.  :tu:

Lucky finds for sure. There is a place two towns away from here that have a lot of Wenger knives. Unfortunately, the owner doesn't want to sell them at all. Every time I go to see them, non have been sold, and I have been watching them for a few years now.

Solving problems you didn't know you had in the most obscure way possible

"And now, it's time to hand this over to our tame race axe driver. Some say, he can live in the forest for six months at a time without food, and he knows of a secret tribe of only women where he is their God. All we know is, he's call the Styx!" - TazzieRob

Just noticed that you asked for the date stamp on my new "old" Crunch, it says 0799 inside the handles  ;).

My apologies for the late reply  :-[.

Yesterday I got a call from the store saying they found a couple more Wengers, went back and bought 3 more ... Which brings us to a total of 16 Wengers and one old Crunch.

I've been doing some searching in the SakWiki and made a list of all of them, I'll try and post the list and some pics in the near future.

I'd say you had a good day. Having them call you back for more, well, that was just icing on the cake. :salute:
