Deployed with river rescue to Lumberton, NC. Chiefs truck transmission linkage came apart. Zip tie to the rescue get us rolling again. Hopefully can get a permanent fix before making the Long haul home to PA

Godspeed, DKop.
For the life of me, among the stupidest things I've ever seen is how big and rough and tumble big Blazers, Broncos, pickup truck and Jeeps are, and the friggin tranny linkage is always this stupid flimsy piece of metal inlaid with plastic...you'd only have to double it's strength for mere pennies, and it would never ever come undone

Quick thinking,although I wouldn't trust that repair.
If it happens again, grab a sturdy coat hanger and a pair of dykes.Cut the hanger to length and then twist the cut ends for a more sturdy repair,at least until the proper part can be fitted.
Ask me how I know? LOL

FYI , it’s worth remembering that you can get stainless steel Zip ties . Not found in big box stores , more the province of industrial fastner supplies . I keep a few in my kit , for more semi permenant repairs !
Best Regards,
Chris

I just found the aforementioned stainless steel zip ties on ebay.
They would be valuable in a BOB.
