My current edc
on: September 25, 2018, 08:55:18 AM
My EDC changes according two my weekly schedule- currently: Two cheap & cheerfuls plus an epic SOG folder:
Boxtree Wrench Multitool
Outu Multi purpose pliers/scissors
SOG Kilowatt (awesome folder with wire strippers/cat 5 cable strippers)
These 3 cover a wide range of scenarios. I want to encorporate a clip on bit set as well. Know of any good pocket clip equipped bit holders?

DeWalt makes a Bit holder set with a pocket clip, I will see if I can find a link to one....

I don't have any personal experience with that particular bit set, but I have had (and still have) other bit sets from DeWalt that I am really happy with, and haven't had any issues with. I have just seen the bit set with a pocket clip at my local hardware store.

Thanks for the link MMR! That bit set looks great- I have never seen a case like that with a clip, awesome. Home Depot sells a Husky pouch with a clip that holds bits too. Then I found a more compact Kobalt pocket screwdriver at Lowes with pocket clip & 8bits storage, just ordered it!  Thanks for the warm welcome Poncho65!

Welcome aboard.

It appears that all of that steel is pulling your pants down.lol

Is this an optical illusion?

What type of belt or suspenders do you use?

As far as bit holders are concerned,I use the Leatherman holder or a clear plastic tube filled with bits.Unfortunately neither of these options have a pocket clip.

Haha I should get some suspenders. Yes the weight isn't the lightest on this edc. Im considering a tool vest when I do large flooring or fab/jerry rig jobs. Been looking at Stanley/Makita/Holmes on Homes vest. With the Kobalt pocket screwdriver I could go two in each pocket to balance weight better.

New addition to my edc! I might get a second & remove the fold out bit driver & just use as bit storage. Also in my edc: a Sharpie & a Bic four color pen WITH stylus- the stylus is important: you never want to be in a survival situation without the ability to draw mustaches on posted pics & make better memes right? The Sharpie: im a forgetful scatter brain- so I wrap some blue painter tape on my sharpie & tear off small pieces to write reminders & stick on steering wheel or fridge & so forth. I even stick a piece of blue tape over my ignition key hole when I leave vehicle with parking brake on-  that has added years to my e-brake already!

What is the brown tape on your sharpie?
Just got a new retractable Sharpie last night to try out. Retractable means more real estate for tape on the length of the marker since I dont have to leave space for the cap. I just dressed it up with 3m BlueTape & some black heavy duty duct tape (pic). And of course Sharpies have pocket clips! On the retractable its a fixed pocket clip!

I could wrap less tape but Its not bad at all. Sharpie sells King Size & even thicker Magnum markers, my Sharpie is comparable in size to those two after I wrap it with tape

Hi BMTS, welcome from me as well!

That is an interesting mod in the YT video... what LM are you considering applying it to? On a Skeletool with its fixed bit holder I can just about imagine some serious torque being applicable, not so much though on the pivotable bit drivers in Charge/Wave/Surge - you'd been subjecting the lock tab/notch to quite a bit of force, depending on how you hold the tool and on the torque on the ratchet of course.
Cheers!

I see what you mean. On the Surge its designed for twisting screws not as a leverage arm, I wonder if anyone put it to test

I replaced the Kobalt folding screwdriver with this guy: smaller, lighter & has 20 bits instead of 8. Loggerhead Bit Dr- I quick rough modded it by adding my spare SOG Killawatt pocket clip, fits perfect! No drilling needed. Ill post more on the mod in separate post in The Mod Squad forum here.
