Where do you buy your SAKs?
on: September 27, 2018, 04:17:44 PM
there are so many places, online and retail, to buy SAKs. what is your favorite place to buy? Where do you buy most often? Who has the best prices consistently? If these three questions don't have the same answer, why?

eBay is my main source because I can’t find a good store around my area. Then again, there might be as I have retired and moved here and just haven’t found it.

I'm another eBay'er.  You just have to be smart about what's a good price, there are bargains and real overpriced stuff on there.

I buy from a former collector and a woman who buys TSA lots and sells individual SAKs from there.

Out of the 35 saks i have, only 2 where from ebay (10 years ago ) and another 2 bought used from another user. All the rest where brought new in the store over the years.

I've been buying from the same store (small tobacco/magazine shop) from some years now, as they have the best prices around. In manny places new sak's are ridiculous overpriced, especially malls, or large gun/knife shops

Also found a good national online store, that ships for free for orders over 40€.
Going to order a,backup Super Tinker and Climber for now, maybe others later :D

I dont have a lot of knives but I bought some on the victorinox online shop (the most expensive, but I didn’t know, they were my first ones), some on the physical shop (same prices, it’s just nice to go there 😊 and I don’t have to wait), others on a local second hand online shop (cheaper but still quite expensive, some I paid almost as new. There is some stuff that is more difficult to find somewhere else I guess, but not even a 58mm costs less than 10$), and others on eBay (till now the best. Even buying from US it’s much cheaper than buying locally, here everything is expensive). I also bought 3 from the multitool.orgl store 😁

We buy alot of EDC from the local Army/Navy Store.  Also from places:  like DLT Trading, and the Swiss Army Store.

My main sources are Gumtree UK, Ebay.Co.Uk or from like minded collectors on forums like this one or on Facebook. I know of only a handful of retailers who sell Victorinox online and its usually the really common models and nothing limited edition or special.

I always check Ebay first, then Smokey Mountain Knife Works (decent prices) and when I travel I usually stop at Shepherd Hills (they don't show them on-line but in their store they have a good selection of SAKs and Bucks.
