Enhance Beech scales
on: November 05, 2018, 01:59:10 PM
Hello everyone
today i would like to make a couple of beech scales as it's the darker wood i can find here. I would like to use some oil to darken it a bit, enhance the grain and protect it. But i have no idea. Can i just use something like olive oil? I read different opinions about that. The other available oils i have at home now are seeds oil, dunlop "lemon" oil for non-maple guitar keyboards, and the WD-40 (i don't even know if it's an oil actually) :D
Any suggestion? I would like to avoid buying something specific, as i will never use it again probably and i live in a small apartment already full of "garbage".  :D
Thanks :)

p.s. maybe i can use some stain?

That's cool, I'm always up to try stuff around the house for this kind of thing
I googled your oil and it's rapeseed oil
I googled that and it's OK for wood  :tu:
