I found this technique on a knife forum, apparently used by many to stonewash knife clips 1. Strip finish with sandpaper, if necessary 2. Place clip in small food-type container with smooth round pebbles (or use old busted up ceramic tiles for a more aggressive stone washed look.), a small amount of water, and some dishwashing detergent 3. Secure top to container so that it is watertight (glue and tape help)4. Wrap container in bath towel and secure with tape5. Place everything in the dryer and run on air-only for about 30 minutes6. Remove from dryer and remove towel7. Open container8. Rinse and dry clip
Stone washing with soapy water and abrasive stones wasn't enough for me and got assistance to do an acid wash as well. Since I had the knife taken down, I took out the reamer and replaced with a smaller flathead screw driver. The scales were aftermarket made from some type of composite.
