Very cool mod!

Reminds me of the folks who do this with G-Shocks.

I doubt it. You need to simmer the parts in a dye solution for an extended time. The combination of heat and water will most certainly destroy the leather fibres.

I have done a few G-Shocks too and they come out great!!!

Cheers,

Pete

It was one of my first RIT- G Shock Mods, but yes, the G-Mod Squad does things like that.

It was a badly yellowed DW 6900 that was dipped in red dye.

I mainly did dye black, though :-)

I know they would look different, but I assume some colours will give better results than others.

:D I have used ice blue and black with lots of success. The trick is to start with a little bit of dye and work toward the colour you want. I'll post some pics tomorrow when it is light.

I have dyed clear "jelly" and solid coloured G-Shocks.
Clear takes colour well, as does matte solid coloured resin. Glossy resin takes no dye or at least only spotty.
You have to calculate teh original colour in the mix.

I have dyed black, orange, red and blue, it all worked well. I´ll try to find some older pics.
