Sanrenmu Multi Tools (lots of interesting ideas)
on: February 20, 2019, 01:32:13 AM
Has anyone seen or used this multi-tool before? It seems crazy hefty.

Sanrenmu 9047 LCC-GH-T8 Multi Tool

The blade shape is really interesting too, almost wants to be a prybar.

I saw that once from a seller near me, and I did not get it, which I now regret.

turns out they make a lot of these unusual multi-tools, all at really low prices with decent steel.

Here is another..

Love the gut hook/cutter/ with philips driver. Clever

what I find interesting about these is that they have really good ideas, and great layouts, just a little lower quality and fit and finish. Why are big companies not poaching some of these ideas for new multi-tools? This one above even has a clever 1/4 inch driver slot, at $26 really interesting...

I've got the 7094 LTX-PPH-T4

It's great. Rock solid, sharp stuff. A little wide, but ok.
Blade and saw have liner-locks. Opener and hook are slipjoint with ok retention.
Single position pocket-clip. Also has glass-breaker.
The hook with Phillips is nice, but it may fold when using the Phillips.

thats cool,

The top one has a liner lock on the gut hook/cutter. I think the smaller ones don't however.

here is a video of the same knife without the other tools, he shows the lock on the gut hook in it.

looks like all the steels in these knives is 12c27 Sanvik

My favorite part of that top most one is the Classic SD file, which might just be my favorite implement ever.

The tip is super interesting to me, I love how it functions as a few different types of tools because of it, not just a cutting edge.

That knife above looks surprisingly solid (7094 model),  maybe I'll give one of these a shot. I won't buy a folder straight up, but these seem like a good MT compromise.

I feel like this more an exploration of inexpensive off brand tools check this idea out. I love it when they go outside the box.

Hammer end cap, 1/4 bit driver, pliers...so many tools. Looks big but very interesting.

That thing looks amazing! :ahhh

I KNOW RIGHT! $29 ....are you kidding me? Even with crap steel its tempting. But the real reason I want it is that I suspect I can take the 1/4 driver and mod it onto a wave.

This might be the best surrogate tool ever!

Imagine CRKT or Kershaw or something coming out with that. They'd instantly get their dedicated sub-forum here.  :pok:
What a shame that these intriguing designs are so obscure.

I like that thing a lot. Plain edge blade, scissors with thumb-pad and a cord cutter to fill the rest of that slot, pocket clip, no openers  :ahhh, three double-end bits, hammer end. I could do without that combo tool, maybe have a file or serrated blade in its place, but wow. That's just sweet. :salute:

I found it branded as "Splitman" but they just put their name on stuff, they don't actually make it.

This is one I've kept putting off getting a lot; the 9019. Seems a lot less fiddly than the 7116 series.

Wow, this tool keeps getting better..Who the hell makes this thing?

Lets recap..

exposed tools:
Hammer cap
Glass Breaker
Tweezers

Outside (1 hand opening tools):
Straight blade
Saw
Belt cutter/ Gut Hook
Scissors
Multi purpose tool??

Inside Tools:
4mm Bit driver
2 spare double sided bits
eye glass screwdriver
Plier/wire cutter

I was going to get a havalon evolve to convert to a bladeless edc (I am school teacher), but this might actually be a better platform..and I can buy 2 of them for the same price...

From the looks I am thinking I could probably install either a rebar plier or Surge plier in place of the smurfty one. And possibly even make the outside tools interchangeable with leatherman.

Sold. I'll take 2 k thanks

I saw it some time ago at a HX Outdoors site. HX Outdoors do manufacture, but whether they make everything they sell is hard to know. It seems a bit different from their usual multitools.

As to what they are hiding some of these China based companies have a serious number of obscure multi-tools in their catalogs. Only a few seem to ever make it to (english speaking) online shops.

"Simple is hard"
"Hard is hard too"
(Partial disclosure: I design tools for a living).

just bought one as well, probably over a month before it gets here. Also, looks like all the tools are actually on the outside, there are no inside tools. Its amazing this tool exists at $30 shipped... regardless of how long it takes.

I just wish it had some kind of name or symbol on it...somthing I can use to identify it and give it personality..When you hear Wave...you know what I am refering too, or any SAK..This crazy tool needs a name.

I keep finding unique multi-tools that deliver capabilities that even the big guys havn't achieved. Here is another, clearly from the same company as the other one.

Seriously impressed. at $21 no less..

its spring loaded pliers, and a magnetic 1/4 inch driver.
We need an off brand challenge month.
