Just stumbled on this forum, and want to join the club  :D

Mine seems to be slightly different to the others posted.

The usual "universal" one, I see has 0602 stamped on it.
Mine has 1202 and has a "ball bearing" in the hole.
Or did they all have one, before it fell out ?

Gooooooooood evening MT !!!

I just got a Tool adapter Friday. A little rust on the bits, the adapter itself is pretty clean (little rust as you can see on the second picture, but works perfectly).

I have read on r3ddit the following :

"Be aware that there are two different types of tool adapter. The very old one, with the tab along the inside edge, has a wrench to fit the original notches on the supertool and sideclip handle. This makes it incompatible with the latest LM tools.

Then there's the new universal tool adapter, without a tab, which makes it working with the original wave and many other models.

[...]

The most recent one seems to be rarer (or more in demand)."

So, TADAM ! Here it is !  :D

Unfortunately, I haven't got the sheath. But, I just made a big, big mistake :/

I reactivated my old eB4y account

Both my wife and my banker won't be happy

But I'm just like a kid with his new toy when I receive a "new" old LM tool \o/

Hi all, so I picked up a nylon version of the adapter/tool sheath for a PST but it was without any parts or pieces including the plastic divider/liner. I didn't know what it was when I bought it just that it was LM and cheap. Any idea where to find said piece or anyone making something like that with a 3D printer?

Okay, I've checked out all of the beautiful pictures on this thread but am still a bit confused. What is the purpose of the tool adapter thingy? I understand that bits can be put into it and then it can be fastened to a LM but I don't quite understand why such an item would exist for LMs that have bit drivers to begin with; is it like a redundancy of sorts?

It was created way before LM had bit drivers on them ;) It was a way to use 1/4 inch bits and add torque by using the handle of the LM as well

The sheath with the Supertool and Adapter looks like an early one made from that very high-quality full-grain leather.

I have one just like it that I bought and used daily many years ago.  I still have it, but the sheath is well-worn and the plastic insert lost both of its side braces.

Both your combo sheath set-ups look great!

Can I join the club please?

Managed to get hold of this one a few years ago - I think via ebay in the UK - Was sent to my Mum's house and I collected it a year or so later!!

I only just spotted that some of the adapters in this thread have a date stamp - Mine does not - So does that mean it is pre-1992?
It came with the box like leather sheath.
And does this mean it is not the Universal Adapter?   ???
Is the only difference that the Universal Adapter does not have the little tab on the inside slot?
Anyone got a side by side shot?   ???

EDIT PS:
This is a great little bit of kit -
And I can use it in my Wave and SuperTool 300 - Handles are splayed a little bit (pardon the pun) - But they grip the adaptor pretty well.

Thanks, it's definitely in good shape, a bit soft from being carried I think but the date stamps on the adapter and the tool are 0298. Thought it was pretty cool that the dates match
