Celebrating 10 years with my Wave
on: May 30, 2025, 11:43:43 PM
Hi all. Last week on May 22nd it was 10 years with my Leatherman Wave.

Mom bought it for me as a gift back in a day, so it definitely holds a special sentimental value.

Over the years we've been through quite a few adventures and repairs and it never let me down.

For some time I put it back and switched to using some other tools, because how else are you going to find what works best for you. But eventually I returned to my trusty modded Wave as an EDC and now I know I can count on it anytime.

For example recently I cut down some screws with it knowing that even if something goes wrong - I'll just replace the wire cutters, because before that I replaced a Wave plier head with Wave+ version :)

That's what makes it so trustworthy for me - here in Ukraine we can for some reason buy any parts for any LM tool easily - not officially of course, but still it brings peace of mind.

Join me in celebrating this date - lately I've been thinking of maybe getting an Arc, but after holding both in my hands in front of me I realized that my Wave is not going anywhere for at least 10 more years  :multi:

Below are the first photo of the set that I made, some shots I made along the way and the state my Wave is now with a Wave+ plier head, S30V blade and an awl.

P.S.: and thanks for letting me be part of your amazing community for 10 years already 🙏.

:iagree: on both counts. May the Wave continue to give you many more years of great service. Stay safe out there!

“I think I can safely say that nobody understands quantum mechanics. So do not take the lecture too seriously, feeling that you really have to understand in terms of some model what I am going to describe, but just relax and enjoy it. I am going to tell you what nature behaves like. If you will simply admit that maybe she does behave like this, you will find her a delightful, entrancing thing." Richard Feynman, 1964, MIT.

Congrats on the milestone! I got mine during the holiday season 2009 and like you I had other primary EDC tools. Now and for awhile this has been mine and objectively I think it's the best overall multitool on earth.

Here's to many more decades!

Congratulations on 10 years of faithful service from your wave. I truly hope it gives you many more decades of use. The Wave/Charge Multitool platform is fantastic. So much to like.
