Z' Having my own back issues I can't say enough just how much I pray that your pain will ease.  I know you understand so I won't say any more.  Just please keep us posted as you can.

Look'n forward to see'n that chicken all fried up.  Fried Checken and Beef Jerky on the same day is almost to much
The Explorer is realy showing it's worth in this challenge.

DAY 25
I did have to break out the Spirit to cut a wire but the Explorer did all the rest of the work.  Scissors, Can and Bottle Opener Drivers, Pen Blade and Cork Screw all assisted in repairing our Dyson Vaccum Cleaner.

Jerky, plums and fried chicken... man it all looks good.

Day 25

I took advantage of the weather being nice and did some work outside.  Used the awl to clean the vents of the weed-eater and the phillips to tighten some screws on an outdoor outlet.

After working, decided to relax outside.  A cricket decided to join me.

As it's been said here before--SAKs and vacuum cleaners do go together. Always having to cut rug fibers, thread, or parachute cord guts out of my Shark. And in most cases--I use all those tools. Except the brush head cover on my Shark uses quarter-turn fasteners so you can get it off easily using just the cap lifter.

Day 25. Not much use. I did a little weed eating this evening since the weather was cool; so I used my PST's cutters to cut the weed eater line (honestly, while SAK scissors cut it like nothing; I prefer not to torment them in this manner), and the pen blade to sharpen the ends of it so it would lock into the Autocut head I have installed on my FS-38.

Day 26

Came back from a long meeting this morning and made a quick lunch, with Explorer helping to open the packets for this noodle soup.

If anyone is interested in quick meals, I wholeheartedly recommend this brand from Singapore.  It is made of whole grain, no MSG, use real milk powder for curry/Laksa and the taste is really authentic.  I dare say probably the best instant noodle in the world.  Btw, Laksa is one type of Malaysian curry, not too spicy and rich in flavor. :D

i had a batch of jerky [called biltong in SA,it is similar but not as dry] in the dryer since Friday, most of it was ready today.
i took a few pieces for my friends to try out.naturally,i had to slice up some bite sized pieces, enter the large blade on my explorer.

Never tried that, I should give it a try someday if I ever come across it!

Day: 25

Another challenge chicken!   :ahhh   :D

I usually like to do a 'before' and 'after' shot, but missed the 'before' shot today. I did stage the 'before' shot....not sure why I missed it.  :dunno:  So you'll just have to imagine a chicken and SAK Explorer waiting to do battle....  ;)

 :punishmentchicken:

I told Mrs Nix that I'd take her for a picnic on Tuesday. Seemed like a perfect opportunity to make some fried chicken for the picnic basket.....

(Image removed from quote.)

The Explorer did well, although I did end up taking the breast pieces off the bone. I cut each of those into two pieces (easier to eat on a picnic and more crunchy crust bits!). This ended up being a bit messy, though. If I had used a proper chef's knife or cleaver, I would have left the breast meat on the bone. However, aside from that, the SAK did a great job breaking down this bird.

The pieces of chicken are now soaking in a buttermilk marinade. (I think fried chicken always benefits from a good marinade, especially a buttermilk marinade.) I'll make the chicken tomorrow, so no pics of the finished dish today.   :)

Now you got me looking forward to your picnic photo!  :D

It was some type of cricket or grasshopper, I’m just not sure what specific type.  He was hoping all around my lounge chair.

sliced up more jerky,for a pre-work snack.
just the way i like it,dry on the outside with a soft centre. it's still a bit too dry,but i'm still experimenting [doing that since i made the dryer 4 or 5 years ago].
the "traditional" SA biltong is moist. makes me salivate just typing about it  :P

the SA expats always have a source of South African foods, wherever they may be.
if you ever come across it,try the traditional, and "dry wors" or dried sausage [this is ok,depending on fat content].

Living in a big city, I rarely got to see them, but it must be kinda cool to see one hopping about in the living room.  :tu:

Great pictures. I was out of town over the weekend attending a concert (Explorer had to stay in the hotel room due to venue's anti knife policies). However, the wife did some shopping over the weekend so the Explorer got a bit of work cutting tags off merchandise and opening packages.

Back to work today, but have some outside work planned for the evening so the Explorer will get to assist with outside chores.
Cheers!
