Day 17: Speaking of shortwave and exploring, I grew up playing on the short wave band.  I've had this Grundig G5 for about 15 years and have a lot of fun with it.
Grundig is an excellent radio! 15 years is really good. Mine, not a Grundig, is about 20 years old and has sliders for different bands. I always enjoyed the nights my father in law and I would spend exploring the world.

I've never had much luck trying to slice bread with mine either Phil.  That does look good!

Thank you Barry - it's a spelt and strong white flour mix with honey instead of sugar. Nearly but not quite Roman Army bread. And it tastes fine even with Vegemite !

Day 17:

No pics. No use. Sorry. Was either in bed or bathroom with dry heaves. Very sick yesterday.

Day 18:

Feeling a bit better today. Not sick but my lower back still destroying me. Can barely move.

Did decide to fix a quick lunch for me and my 21 yr old boy.

Fried up sausage and added a few Mac n Cheese kits with extra cheese stuff, for a yummy lunch...

Zrxoa1. Hope your feeling better soon.

Day 18
For me the day was a bunch of yard work that I didn’t need the Explorer for, but did open some ice cream when I came in to cool down.

Zrxoa1 keep getting rest hope to see you back on your feet and active again soon.

DAY 18
kick'n back with the new edition of my RV magazine.
It's good to keep some old scales around just in case.
The original scales started to come off so even though this one was chipped on one end it keeps my Explorer cloathed until I can get it a new outfit.

Now to decide which suit to order, of course it will have to be a +,

but which one?

Day 18. Used the cap lifter to unscrew a switch plate cover, and the hook to pull a roughly 50 pound or more roll of snow/erosion fencing. Also, my chair broke again. It's a roughly 40-something year old Terrycraft, as is my desk. Wasn't made too well. The backs of the drawers are particle wood, and the top drawer's back broke in half.  The chair kept falling apart. Finally, after fixing it tonight, I said to heck with it, and replaced it with my regular rolling desk chair from the upstairs office. Honestly, I hate wheeled chairs, but I guess it's what I'm stuck with for now.  I'll have to really start learning some carpentry skills to put a new back on the top drawer.  The desk and chair were technically replaced two years ago, with an older "executive desk" I was given that is also much better made, but that holds my desktop.

Always like ice cream, I sworn I could eat it anytime, anywhere. :D

Sounds like a good solid day of work!  Good uses!

Mike, you got me curious, how exactly does this thing operates? :pok: :D

It's is a small version of a meat slicer you would find behind a meat counter. You just put a large piece of meat on the bed and push it back and forth through the motorized blade. For thin slices, it works much better if the meat is cold. I will take better pics of the slicer tomorrow.

Meat slicer always scared me.  I’ve seen a few cut themselves pretty good on them.

They aren't scary to use just keep your fingers away from the blade. In my former life, I was flooring installer carpet, vinyl, tile and the last twenty years installing Lamanite and hardwood floors. All our are cuts are scribed. walls are not straight, All cuts are made freehand on a table saw just a sharp blade we don't use fences or miter gauges. I have never gotten nicked or cut with a table saw, miter saw or undercut saw as of today. I cannot say the same for a bloody mary knife countless times I have had my hands sewed up.  :D

I have finally given up trying to slice bread with 91mm main blade. So Vic bread knife to the rescue today.

I reckon that the rounded blade on the DofE Compact would be better for butter and spreads but today the Explorers main blade is on it. I'm never sure about Vegemite but I keep buying the stuff on the basis that I love Marmite so I must love Vegemite right? I should do a survey ....

Cut some garden twine with the scissors and used the awl to make a wasp trap for a friend.

Your bread looks great! What is Vegemite?

Day18

Today we got out of the house and drove to the coast and had lunch at the Santa Cruz Warf. I trimmed my fingernails and nose hair maintenance with Explorer.
