Recently acquired a Leatherman Charge AL, the black aluminum scales looks good, but I wonder how it would look like after some use and pocket time.
Multitools are the best thing that happened to mankind since the invention of the wheel!

Mine looks practically like new to be honest. Some rub marks that would be hard to even capture on camera.

The black on the Al holds up very well, Duck

I think that if dropped they will damage a little on the edges (depending on what they hit or land on) but as far as pocket carry they are really tough

I bought the AL, ALX, and SLV when they first came out. I was also a little worried, but after considerable use they look nearly new. I just wouldn’t drop it or pocket carry it with keys. I had a set of keys tear up a black oxide tool.

Mine is holding up pretty well too. Just some normal battle scars. One of my favourite LM. Love the metal faceplate. Shame they removed them on the newer charge plus.
