Today I received the damaged Sidekick I ordered a few days ago and went to modding right away. This is a pretty easy mod, and I am sure it was done hundreds of times already, but it fits my needs
First, I removed the blade from the Wingman and the saw form the Sidekick
The saw did not fit right away. I had to grind off a little bit of the back where it sits against the lock tab. After that, it worked perfectly. Name switch from Wingman to Woodman
After the Woodman was completed I tried to fit the blade from the former Wingman into the Sidekick slot where the saw used to be. It fits in there, but the knife does not close all the way. After a brief inspection I noticed that the Wingman blade has a protrusion that starts where the sharpened part of the blade ends. After grinding it down, it is now level with the rest of the heft and fits perfectly into the saw slot.
The damaged part of the Sidekick was the broken tip of the file. I re-profiled it, and now it is more like a package opener/ pointy tool (to make pilot holes for example).
Name switch from Sidekick to Wolverine in honor of this guy
Three blades might be overkill, but on the other hand one of them better be sharp when I need one in the shop
