Fish scaler love...
on: July 14, 2019, 03:14:40 AM
(Stay with me here...  :) ) Hi all, I'm back after some time away. A few Syph mods , a few 84mm Alox blades, a couple SwissChamps and my ever-present Compact call here with me home. There are a few others knocking about, but those listed get the lion's share of use. I've recently been gathering pieces to mod my Compact- It needs a wood saw and that may be my perfect edc knife. I say that after carrying a stock Compact for a couple years now.

On to the fish scaler! So, my Wife began drinking coffee again recently. Just one mug a morning, so brewing a pot seemed wasteful. We bought a Keurig for her, with a third party basket that you can put your own grinds into rather than buying the expensive "pods". I've found that the fish scaler is perhaps the perfect tool for cleaning out this little basket after brewing. Since the wood saw and fish scaler are both so slim, I'm debating adding both to my Compact, adding to it's edc usefulness.   :D This nets me a backside chisel and small flat tip screwdriver if everyrhing works out from my donor knives. Now, what to name it???

Well, it's done. The Not So Compact...   :climber:

The work went smoothly, and now the Compact has a wood saw, a fish scaler, and a backside small flat tip screwdriver. And I have a more useful to me SAK that'll get used daily for a bunch of tasks. Thanks to everyone who has gone before and the wonderful tutorials!

Thanks, folks! It's been in my pocket since building it. I've actually used the ruler on the scaler a couple times as well, not just for Keurig cup cleaning. It comes in handy no matter how maligned it is...   :D
