Hi everybody! My name is Martin, I hail from The Netherlands. After reading this great forum for a while I decided it's about time to join in.

My multitool story will probably sound very familiar to a lot of you. When I was about nine years old I was given my grandfather's Vic Tinker. I basically carried that all the way through high school and then later bought a Climber. The Tinker was just getting too old to use, it has a broken back spring. Besides, I didn't want to loose a knife with such sentimental value attached to it.

I used the Climber for a long time and supplemented it with a Leatherman PST.  Then I decided to buy a Wave which served me well for years. When the new Wave came out I discovered the wonderful world of tools and things got "interesting" really fast. A hand full of tools grew into a collection of roughly 300 pieces, mainly Leatherman and Victorinox.

Recently it started feeling a bit odd to have so many unused tools and shelf queens so I decided to implement a new rule; every tool I own must be one I carry and use. Naturally some exceptions were made for special pieces with sentimental value and gifts received from friends and family. This led to me selling of a lot of tools online and during this process I exchanged messages with a fair amount of MTO members, naturally they encouraged me to join. So here I am.

Later on I'll post some "collection" pictures, I look forward to being a member of your community.  :salute:

Here's a couple of pictures of my first SAK, an 84mm Tinker I inherited it in 1979, I carried and used it just about daily until 1990.
