Day 17 photos
The Rucksack. This is a basic Picknicker with one tool layer added. The saw. If you go hiking or into the woods...the Rucksack is the one you want to take with you. The saw is the nice solid one I like. I’ll explain it on tomorrows model.

Though I would prefer a One-hand opening version on person, I did put a similar model in my larger survival kit because of its size.  Really great tool for outdoor, especially the saw is awesome!

Rucksack looks like a great outdoor tool.  Nice size and we already know the 91mm saw is excellent so this has to be great given a bit more length.

I've got a Rucksack and really like it. The 111mm saw is fantastic.

For me, the perfect 111mm SAK is the Outrider. A Ruckie + scissors. A Huntsman on steroids. A brilliant SAK for me.  :tu:

You are right. Which is why I like the 91mm but after getting the 111mm saw...oh yeah...better!

That is on my list as it is a “Huntsman on steroids”, I just haven’t come across one. My closest is the Hercules, which adds the pliers.

If (more probably when) I decide to purchase a 111mm, it is probably going to be an Outrider because of the tool set.

I don't think you'll regret it.

I thought the Outrider might be a bit big for EDC, but, after a 30-day challenge with the 'rider, I realized it could easily be my 'one' SAK.   :)

Day 18 photos
The One Handed Trekker aka the OHT. It is the civilian model to the soldier models. The OHT is the first 111mm I bought back in 2010. With its one hand opening and locking the blade with a lever it came home with me. I didn’t realize the lock also locked the pry bar/cap lifter until I used it. As a pry bar it is excellent! It has never failed any job I put it on. It rode in my pants pocket while working and then into my cargo pocket since retirement.

It is the one SAK that is always with me. The reasons are better blades and tools. They are bigger and stronger for the jobs they are to do. A true working knife. The blade is longer and with more cutting surface to it. The saw is just the best. On the 91mm saws vs 111mm you have more teeth so your cutting into wood is more deeper and quicker. With the 91mm you can’t be as aggressive. I like the older style saws on the 111mm vs the newer ones. The older ones where more solid looking where as the newer ones are slimmer. They both will eat wood at the same rate so I guess its just a look thing.

If I were to be limited to only one knife it would be a 111mm model.

That's the only 111mm I have and a constantly companion with outdoor adventures no matter if it's fishing, kayaking, hiking, muchroom hunting or just walking in the woods or anything else. Wonderful tool and great knife.

Guess I will have to get another one

The OHT is my only 111 SAK, and I do like blade.  Always meant to find PE model but never did.

From what I have observed at my normal SAK sources the PE version of the 111s has been discontinued.
There is also a newer thread on the same subject

Yes I have seen and posted to it.
I was going to be ordering a couple of other pocket knives but will be getting some more 111mm instead.
