At a 170$ It actually will be a good deal if all the claims work. Some would say that the cost is way too high but just think of the impact this has in the Military, Law enforcement, and Ems circles. I think if all works out it is certainly a winner!

Maybe it's a capacitor that they control the discharge rate. Doh! just read it more thoroughly, they are using what they call and "ultracapacitor". Soooo, that explains the fast charge rate.

I bet you could convert that to a pretty nice stun-gun too. Wonder if they have that planned in the future, simple swap of the head and voila ..... a self defense zapper.

I bet that thing is heavy.  High capacity capacitors are usually quite heavy.  Inside they are like 2 pieces of rolled up metal tape with and insulating material between to prevent short circuiting.  I did not see any weight specs but I did not look very hard either.  It might even double as a billy club!!  I bet it also pull a major amount of current to charge in 90 secs.
