Sorry for an extra post, I meant to add this to the last one. Can opener is definitely more task-specific, but the combo tool works just fine in it's place. Thanks for the welcome back folks, I'm enjoying the posts and pics!

Wow - two different sides thats kinda cool!

It adds to the balance of beauty and utility.  Plus, what’s not to love about a small ruler.

Agree.  The can opener may be easier to use, but for how little I use it, I prefer the combo tool will for decreasing the SAK width.

The combo tool function is familiar after years of using a P-38 can opener, too. Pulling to "cut" is seemingly intuitive to me.

Fully agree with you Sos24 - I hadn’t realised that the Timascus had a ruler on the other scale -  :like: :like:

Day 3 - been out in the garden seeing to the tomatoes, cutting off some leaves and tying the trusses up:

 Day 3

I forgot, there's another non-standard tool in this Alox mod: the file and metal saw. This, like yesterday's tools, came out of a SwissChamp.

Used today as a nail file. I can't prove this pictorially for lack of hands, so you'll awl have to trust me on this ;)

I'm on the fence about outing an 93mm awl in my celidor expedition but can't make up my mind. I love the awl but almost exclusively use the small blade for everyday tasks..

September 2 & 3 -  the modified Pioneer was used to cut some milkweeds around a solar panel on a fence charger yesterday. Today I'm back in the office at work, so duties for the knife will be to open mail.

Day 3 - Woodsaw

As a gardener, I like pruning shears and woodsaws, and most of my SAKs have a woodsaw.
Except the smaller ones of course (58mm, 74mm).

The SAK woodsaws are quite small when compared with other pocket saws but they do a nice job nevertheless.
Therefore my Green Hornet sports a woodsaw; it could never be otherwise.
