Has anyone sent a SAK into the London store for repairs. I emailed them and they said they would repair Swiss Army knifes no problem but there is a 3 month turn around time. I was wondering did it take that long to repair yours or are they deliberately overestimating to give them self plenty of time.
I'm pretty sure 3 months is the standard repair time given by Ibach themselves, the London store has nothing to do with that. I'm always given the same timeframe here in Hungary when sending in something for repair.EDIT: To clarify: AFAIK from Europe they send everything back to the Swiss HQ for repairs.
Ok, that surprises me, the London store offers a build your own knife service, well I think they do.So I took it they did the repairs there.Did they take the 3 months to do your repairs?
Yeah, it was about 3 months the three times I had something sent to Ibach. I guess others had the same experience, that's just how it works. It takes time, but usually it's worth the wait, especially if it's a old/rare/discontinued model (or Wenger).
Also, you may expect some nominal repair fee, but really only a couple of pounds per knife. Or you might not have to pay anything at all, that's equally possible, I think it depends on if they need to replace parts or simply have to do some work on the original ones.
Ok that sounds good, I will be over the moon to get it back minus the damage. Thanks again.
