Gun User Badge Request
on: October 03, 2019, 10:35:01 PM
I hadn’t gone to the range in a couple months but took along the Walther PPS M2 and Sig P229 SAS.

The range pictures aren’t that great, but the only other person there at the time was the safety officer and I wasn’t going to ask him to take pictures.

I always start and end with my carry gun, which is the PPS

Then I shoot whatever other gun I brought, which happened to be the P229

Here is the target I used.  The Left and center were from the PPS and the right is from the P229.

Nice Badge, SOS.   :tu:

I've looked at the Walther myself. An excellent firearm!

Congrats on the badge Sos. I had the same carry. Still have it but it didn’t like cycling steel case. I’m a fanboy of Gaston’s so the 19 is my go to.  Nice groups.

Thanks wspeed, Steve, Nix, chip, and BC.

Nice Badge, SOS.   :tu:

I really like the Walther a lot.  It is the first non-hammered gun that I have carried.   Of all the striker-fired I tried it felt the best and shot the best for me.  For carrying, I really like the striker indicating hole, which is fairly unique to the PPS, because it provides a little added safety when holstering.

Iknow a lot of people who really like Glocks,  Every time I’ve shot a Glock, it just didn’t feel right and I just didn’t shoot it as well as other guns, so I’ve never purchased one.  I’ve heard that for some it can be the grip angle and I think that is my problem, because Glocks just don’t point as naturally for me as some others.

It took aloooooong time to get use to my gen4. I absolutely LOVE the grip on the M2. Almost bought a PPQ because of it too. After a while I just come back to my gen4. I trust it and I understand it. Did you have to send M2 in for the safety recall? How about barrel peening?

My M2 was dated just after the safety recall and I have not had any issues with barrel wear.  It has been completely reliable since day one, but I have only had it a year and shot about 600 rounds.

I only had issues with cheap steel cased in my M2 otherwise flawless. It replaced my shield in a heartbeat but not the 19. I slapped a set of ameriglos on top of it. I like them!

I never shoot steel cased, because one of the ranges I go to doesn’t allow it and I find they tend to also have a stronger odor which is especially evident at indoor ranges.
