Another nice find there supratentorial! I've been trying to research that one for awhile now. Right now all I've got is that it was made in Germany, either in the 60's or 70's. Do you have any more info on it?

Nothing more yet but I've bought some old A&F catalogues.  I'll be happy to send you scans if I'm able to find anything.

Cool, I hope you find something!

By the way, there was also a take-apart variation that used a slotted pivot screw to break down into two halves. (It was made in Solingen for Tell Cutlery.)

Here's a Sheffield multitool with locking pliers that I've had for several years, it appears the same as the Kershaw A100CTA.    I remember buying it at an Auto Zone, I don't recall the price.  It's usually kept it in the kitchen tool drawer, so my mom's probably used it more than I have.

Very cool!  I like the finish!

If it's Sheffield, it's probably a Chinese knockoff though.  Does it say where it's made?  What's the quality like?  The brass thumb stud is usually an indicator that it's a cheapo.

When Sheffield was in Sheffield, they were fantastic.  I remember back in the days when Wilkinson Sword was a damned fine British name too!  Unfortunately, there is a marketing company based in North Carolina (I think) that imports cheap crapola from China, Pakistan and other Crap Capitols of the World and calls them Sheffield.

I haven't heard of much, if anything coming from the real Sheffield in a long time.  Are there still blades of various kinds being cranked out there?

There are a few there I wouldn't mind adding to the stable.

Nice to see they are still hanging on too.  I'd all but written them off.

This is the Sheffield I am used to:

The quality control is so high that they can't even get the puffy stickers on straight.

I have many of them.  My Mother in Law got me a 10 piece set for Christmas one year.  They were on sale at Home Depot for $11.99 or something.  I have one very much like a SOG ToolClip and now that I have a real SOG I may just do a comparison, similar to my recent rant on SOSAKOnline:

Are you sure?  The Sheffield has the extra phillips driver on it.  Of course it's a typical, useless knockoff phillips, but it's there!

Also, in place of the clip on the opposite site they have (can you guess?) another crooked sticker!

It is made in china, but it's fairly decent quality compared to most of the chinese multitools I've handled.  Other than a bit of side play with the liner lock knife blade, everything on it works well.  With the number of parts counting the tools, screws, springs, and such, I'd imagine it was a bit more labor intensive to assemble than the average multitool knockoff.  I did think it odd that it has 'Patent Pending' on it though, I don't recall seeing that on a knockoff before.  I thought maybe Kershaw might of had some kind of deal with Sheffield.
