Day 13

Nothing to do for the Spirit today. It still came along for the morning walk and was ready for action should it be needed  :tu:

Day 17 - Made a revised version of a merchandising tool I use at other job, for Frito-Lay. A former version was too short, and had to over-reach to get things, which landed me into some semi-serious issues. So, bought some thinner aluminum stock, had fun shaping it without a vise. Used the metal saw on Spirit to cut the stock down some, and pliers of both Crunch & Spirit to get the slightly bent angles on the end - where I used silicone sealant to allow for a friction grab onto the tater chip bags.

Was at Red Apple and used the revised tool and was just the right length. Did not use the ladder this evening at Walmart, so the revised tool did not get any use there. On the bright side, it is long enough that it should not get lost if I laid it on a shelf - whereas the former version did blend in and became difficult to find even with reflective tape on it. :ahhh

When I got up had gotten called in early, so did not get a photo of the finished product. Will try to get one up later, after I get some much needed rest.
Would like to add a lanyard of sorts to the end, yet I've no time to weave one.

Also cut up more veggies for lunch and dinner. That seems to be a daily task.  ;)

Am trying to eat more lentils, though they seems to not cook so well in a rice cooker. Now in a GoSun Sport solar cooker things cook very well, although the sun is not out very long here, and too many trees casts shadows. So am back to traditional cooking.  ;)

Day 17 - To add the merchandising tool I've recreated for myself is working out well. If only was a way to add a stable extender for reaching to the top shelf without a ladder. Need like another foot, but I managed by really strecthing out there - did not want to drag the two-step ladder out.

And the claw end. Tapered the end to be more of a grasp around bags and jars. There is a wire version but those things are too expensive and are not the best as they flex way too much. Almost bought one, but they wanted $36 for one + shipping? NFW. Made my own from $6 aluminum from Home Depot.

Day 18 - At work, merchandising, most boxes have holes on the label end. While we're not really supposed to use the holes to carry the boxes, we do. ::) Although sometimes the holes are on the wrong end, so I used to stick the PocketToolX Piranha in on the pronged side, they gave a twist. It is messy, but it's fast.

Today I decided to try the chisel tool, the cable cutter side worked terrific!

And had to break down a taped box. Again, the chisel is the perfect tool! - If ya had a Leatherman, you'd have to open the tool, pull out the can opener or blade. Spirit is better, don't have to flash any blades at all, nor do you have to open the tool up. Luv this Spirit X!! :D

Got a battery to put in the older computer, that I use every day. The CMOS battery was dead cause the computer was totally forgetting the settings. Used the small flathead, with an extended tool, to undo the battery clip.

Then replaced the battery with a newer one, and used the flathead to make sure it was fully seated all the way around.

Day 15

Used the Spirit to replace a few light switch covers. I painted the hallway a while ago, but the store did not have the covers we wanted. They came in last week, and today I replaced the old ones (pictured here).

Day 19 - Bad part of merchandising at a major store is that people go there when they are sick. And when I get sick it greatly affects the main job. Was talking to one of our government contacts, and she was from Kentucky. She recommended a bourbon hot toddy. Liquor store was open for another 20 minutes, so flew down the road to get some bourbon and lemon juice.

Used the Spirit's chisel to break the plastic seal on the other spirits. :tu: And to introduce one Spirit to another I dipped the chisel inside, than took a taste to see how rough this stuff was. Surprisingly it is rather smooth, though the fuel really kicks in afterwards.

Never had bourbon before. This is Elijah Craig bourbon.  :drink:

The representative said to put on a long sleeved shirt, get under a comforter, and this would sweat the bug out. She said I would feel much better by morning. I shall see.

Another pose, though had a clipboard in the background. Was a busy day.

Tastes kind of like coffee: heated water, clover honey, lemon juice, bourbon. Played my didgeridoo and can feel the stuff kicking in. Time to hit the sack.

If ya want a legal buzz, play a didgeridoo.  :D

Day 20 - Did not do much today. Went to the DMV to get the Idaho Star card to make TSA happy, and guess some Federal buildings require it. Picked up some spicy Chinese food, egg flour soup, and some hot tea. While I was waiting for the food, was dunking the tea backs under the hot water.

Got home. Feasted on hot egg flour soup, poured some bourbon in the tea, and man that worked! Was sweating like the dickens. Finished with the other dishes and was heating up. Have some Chinese Hot Mustard, and wow, is that stuff ever powerful!!!

Have to find something to get rid of this nagging cough though. Guess I better go heat up some water and try that bourbon again, with an herbal tea. Seemed to work great. Way better than just plain water.
