How many of you carry a SAK as your only EDC?

This whole thread is in need of the question;
If you have a SAK, then do you really need another knife? 

You don't ! .........        Well I don't at least !!!   
Although if I carry a pliers based tool it has one too ........ Can't think why they need to put one in PB MTs   

Is this thread aimed at primarily  SAK guys? Just wondering how the poll would go if we put it in the general tools board ?

My minimal is pretty much a alox classic with mini flashlight and mini roll of duct tape on the keychain, and a pioneerX on a pocket clip,
Now if the circumstances were to change around, then the bag goes with me which has the larger first aid kit  besides the few bandaids in the wallet, and larger amount of duct tape, but also multitools, some camp gear, glow sticks, flashlight, mini notebook, paracord on the handle, a poncho, and other things if needed in case of an emergency,

A year ago there was a whole work related EDC. In my new job I have no need (!) For an EDC.  Having said that I still carry a SAK, mostly now a 75mm Executive

My SAK combo is a SAK and Swisscard which is always in my wallet. Sometimes a SAK can disturb people, whereas the Swisscard doesn’t, despite having the illegal fixed blade (in UK)!!!

I had basically thought of it as targeted towards the sak folk. Mainly because there’s likely many on the main board that don’t carry a sak at all.

Would be interesting to see what the results there would be.  I wonder what the equivalent of “sak only” would be for a non sak person? Just a blade only knife? It seems like a sak is a bit different since it could stand in for a multi in some scenarios, where a knife only is more limited.

The short answer is generally no, but sometimes I want another just for fun.

I'm surprised too.  I would have thought that most people carry a SAK alone, or something else entirely.   It's a knife-based MT, and you can get a knife on a SAK to suit your needs. 

I think the equivalent one-tool carry for a non-SAK person would be a folder.  I was in the "all you need is a good folder, to cut, pry, screw, open..." group for many years before I started carrying a leatherman for work.  Once I changed jobs, and was in the habit of the other implements besides the knife, I started carrying SAKs.  I

I tend toward larger models...so what more would I need?  Been that way for decadesss.

Deluxe Tinker for SAK only and Compact + Spirit for SAK combo.

Mostly I go with the Deluxe Tinker only, a perfect SAK for life in the city.

I got by with just a two layer scout knife for about 30 years. For the three years I've been a combo SAK carrier.

A Rambler lives permanently on my keyring. At work I carry a Trailmaster and a Swisschamp. The Trailmaster sees the most use by far but the SC is indispensable at times. The pliers have been especially handy for some fiddly jobs; I also sometimes use the small blade, corkscrew, awl, and magnifier. I've used the scaler for measurements and probing, and the metal file for dealing with the dangerous sharp edges I encounter.

Off duty, my favourite pocket carry seems to be a Sportsman in addition to the Rambler. I like the size and easy handling, and opener layer. The Rambler adds scissors, a fine blade, and #0 Phillips. The Tourist has another useful blade instead of a nail file, and I do have one, but I have a particular attachment to the Sportsman. It's like my old single bladed scout knife, with more elegance and extra utility. I have five! 

Another Swisschamp lives permanently in the shoulder bag I carry most of the time away from home. Although it sees rare use, I do feel better prepared knowing it's there.

I can get by with just a SAK, which one doesn't seem to matter as long as it has two openers, I've been faithful to a Fieldmaster for around a year now, anything else I carry includes that Fieldmaster

I'm in the SAK ,or SAK +1 category. A black Classic lives on my keychain, and I typically pair it with an EAB Lite. Both are too frequently useful to leave at home
