This old 58mm (pictures inside)

Found this cool older 58mm and wanted to share with everyone. If anyone could assist in dating this one, that would be awesome!

From what I can tell, this is a pre-Bijou 58mm from when the model was known as the 'Commander.'

  • Large nickel silver logo (Maytag??) with no vic cross
  • No keyring
  • Older cross-cut file
  • Victoria / VSSR1 stamp on main blade
  • Nickel silver tweezers head (!)
  • newer scissors spring, clearly aftermarket

From what I can see, the VSSR1 stamp (from Ulli's tang stamp diagram), started in 1952. https://leaf-vics.com/victorinox-stamps-by-years

I also noted that the nickel-silver tweezers head was phased out in 1957. https://www.sakhome.com/304372154

My tentative date is therefore 1952-1957, but please correct me if I am in error.

Also, anyone have any spare 58mm single springs?  :ahhh

I guess I should have done more research - an added wrinkle: https://logos.fandom.com/wiki/Maytag

Apparently Maytag began using this logo in 1963 - obviously would help to date this knife.

Curious about the nickel-silver tweezer tip. It is definitely not aluminum, I have a few older SAKs and this one is clearly that faint gold color from oxidation over time. Sooo...any guesses?
