Just musing trying to blow some steam off of a personal situation but, using this tool, wouldn't it be the original Center Drive!?!?

Yes and it is very affective :like: but being a separate tool accessory it can't hold the claim to fame as much as the Gerber tool :ahhh :D

No I don't think so. Gerber has there own bit adapter kit.

Don't think so either, even on the blunt nose ones; the handles/chassis of the Gerber's is wider, hindering it to slip in, and I think that the design (flik versus butterfly) wouldn't  allow for proper grip onto the Tool Adapter.

If needed, you can use the Leatherman Removable Bit Driver for Blast, Kick, Fuse, Rebar, ST300 or, as Steve pointed out, the Gerber Tool Kit. Also, the bit driver that most bit kits have  from tools like Ganzo and many other cheaper ones will also work.

Solidly in this club, have 3 standard adapters with tools (couple PST’s and a Supertool) as well as a UTA that I bought with my TTI many years ago.  Latest is a UTA that’s marked “PSNS & IMF PDQ” (Puget Sound Naval Shipyard & Intermediate Maintenance Facility Puget Demonstrated Quality).  I assume that a multitool came with the adapter.  Don’t know if it was marked by Leatherman or after purchase.

Last two pictures show how to carry twelve bits in the case, the adapter holds them in place.  Caution, don’t bang it on the table to find out how well, lol.

:hatsoff:  Having 12 bits in that case is rather handy.  Of course you’ll still be missing the right bit when you need it.   :

A couple questions:
(1) Can the new leatherman rachet driver be used realistically with the old adapter like your picture implies? I thought the adapter works only with hex type bits and the rachet-driver with the leatherman flat bit holder?
The setup in your picture looks almost too good to be true :-)
(2) Also are the hex bits for the old adapter standard bits? i.e. if i acquire the adapter without bits, will be able to insert regular bits i already have?

Thank you.

A :bump: for this club as well :woohoo:

Takes regular hex bits, even sockets.  The ratchet works great in the adapter, can even be used with the adapter alone.  This is the setup for an old Supertool....,,

Thank you! That combo of adapter and rachet is then amazing and i might even say a must have particularly if the adapter fits your favorite lm.

I see listings on auction site that have the adapter with two nubs and they are described as “universal” adapters. Based on the earlier posts in this thread, I was under the impression that the smooth/flat version is the universal adapter while nubbed ones are standard adapters.
Do I have it wrong or are the listings inaccurate?

I'm in also. The adapter I received appears functional but there's rust inside the angling mechanism (under the adjuster ring). Hope it's strong enough for use. Is it advisable to use say pb-blaster something like this (asking coz it's not just a static surface)?

Also the new rachet fits and should be usable but the rachet is tad wobbly in my adapter. This is normal?

Congrats :woohoo:

Use anything on the rust it will be better than nothing :tu:

If it is only a little wobble then it is fine :tu:

I think my wife bought the adapter for me as an Xmas gift.  It's ridden in my day pack since, but has rarely been used.

Or... find a couple of 2-3mm neo magnets that could fit in the larger-holes wrench/spanner, and glue them onto the case!

Thank you. My middle son just was talking to me about using neo mags. So I could open it upright.
