Day 20
Absolutely perfect day to be at the lake here! No clouds in the sky and 31 degrees (that’s about 88 for our friends south of the border  :) )
No work today, just popped the top off a few cold ones.  8)
:like: Seems like the best possible use for the PX  :drink:

Day 20

Busy day for the Pioneer X today.

Used the blade and the awl to break down a lot of cardboard boxes for recycling. Then I stacked the flat panels of cardboard and put them inside a larger flat box that I kept intact.  Then I popped a couple of holes in the box so I could keep the whole thing together with bungee cords for transport to the recycling drop-off.  After that, I used the bottle opener to aid in recovery from all the hard work.

This might be my first legit action shot in the last 2 months... I didn't forget!

How did it perform, you ask?  This might be one of the tasks where I prefer a locking blade (or maybe I really should be using a box cutter).  One of the boxes was corrugated cardboard, and about 8 feet in length. I've been neglecting to break this one down for some time, since I knew it was a tough one).  Any time I cut down, and "run out of blade", and need to pull back and readjust - I run the risk of pulling the blade closed and chopping my index finger clear off my hand.   I got the job done, but I did need to be extra careful.
That's some serious useage there EB  :like: :tu:

DAY 21

Happy Fathers Day (it still is here; 7:30pm)

I had to work today so no "action" shots (can't take it into the airport)

So, here's a couple of pic's of the PX with a calendar given to me by a friend who was visiting the UK today (he was former Carabinieri)  :police:

Note the Awl pointing out the date it arrived  :tu: (It should have been delivered earlier but, you know, Covid  ::) )

Always great to see old friends, although I did have to look up Carabinieri  :)

Day 21
Happy Father’s Day dads!
Just as hot here today but no visit to the lake so I’m out with the kids sitting in the shade while they’re on the “sprinkoline”. (That’s when I slide the sprinkler under the trampoline).
I’m sure I’ll be using the bottle opener later but I might not get a chance to post so here’s one from earlier today when I was dismantling a little display.

Day 21

PX came along hiking. GAK was backup and supplied saw and CS should it be needed. As you can tell we were above tree line most of the time, so nothing to use the saw on anyway  :D

DAY 20

Another slow day in the Surge residence  ::)

However, the scissors on the PX stepped up to trim some stray paracord ends from my new TBL bracelet  :tu:

Where’d you get the cool glow fob?

Great photos as usual SVL!
Nice effects EB
I had a couple of bonus uses today, unfortunately no pics.  Opened a bottle for me, but the best one was my 5 year old.  She's used to seeing me with my knives, but when I pulled the scissors out to cut some tags off of some new clothes grandma brought over she got really excited.  She said with big eyes "I didn't know it had scissors!!!". And then proceeded to cut stuff for 5 minutes.  :)

Cheers Jazz

I got them from Polymath Products (see link below) They work really well emitting a soft glow not for lighting, just for kit marking etc. :tu:
I was put on to Polymath by GearedForwards  :hatsoff: who has some of their Atomlights

Day 22

Gratuitous photo of Mrs. Tet’s peony bush. And I’m putting the new bell on my daughter’s bike.  I’d never used the can opener tip on a Phillips until I found this forum.  Actually I didn’t know that was even a thing!
Thanks to all!

Day 22

Today I tried my hand at making fish cakes, inspired by the Gordon Ramsay recipe.

They turned out delicious, although not pretty.

The can opener was put through its paces.

Taste is all that matters. :like:   Your post reminded me about a Quora question I read recently--apparently there are many people tagging Gordan Ramsey on instagram, and he has some of the most hilarious reply to all those tagging. :D

I had internet problems last night (mysteriously gone today  :dunno: ) so couldn't upload the pic' for Day 22  ::)

None-the-less, here's the PX slicing some tomatoes that Mrs Surge required with her steak. It did a pretty good job  :tu:

Mrs Surge loves Peonies but we can't grow them well in our yard/garden. Everything has to be in pots and some just don't like it  :dunno:

Those look nice.  they remind me of Holland chilis which are apparently abundant in the UK... and I can't find them anywhere in the US.  Don't worry though, I wouldn't mistake a tomato for a chili.  I hope.
