3 older Spyderco's with older ZDP189 and Gin-1 steel, nice finds, up for trade on various knife and blade forums, may go quickly I Hope.
1. Spyderco Delica 4 #C11BK with a ZDP189 blade. Just been serviced by Spyderco techs at HQ. I took the knife in on a trade and sent it off to be serviced and checked out 100%. Original edge was cleaned up by Spyderco tech - letter accompanies knife showing service was completed last week. ZDP189 blades are a little scarce these days.

2. From what I have read this is from a 1997 run of a Navigatotr Experimental 2 run with Gin-1 steel blade. Gingami-1 aka GIN-1 aka G-2. A steel with slightly less Carbon, slightly more Chromium, and much less Mmolybdenum than ATS-34. No Nickel, Tungsten or Vanadium. A very good stainless steel. It was used often by Spyderco earlier production pieces.GIN1 was quite commonly used by Spyderco in the early years. They have since moved on to more modern and advanced steels, GIN1 (or G2, equivalently) has maintained a small but loyal following in the knife community. Gin-1 sharpens relatively easily and keeps a decent edge.Edge type, edge geometry, blade thickness, blade shape, sharpening style, intended use, and user environment can all factor into positive or negative performance from any type of blade steel.

3. A New 1998 Native C41BK with Gin-1 blade.

DIY light studio for US$ 10 Another view of the DIY light tent From my first light tent a couple years ago where I used cloth panels under the objects being photographed I switched to the firmed poster board this past week as shown in the photographs and the poster board works 1000% better with no wrinkles . I also ordered a batch of the plastic easel / tripod display stands in various sizes for the knives ant MT to be placed on while being photographed. This way these photos look I'll always be using the light tent from now on.
