So I felt like carrying  my black Alox Pioneer today.
I bought two,  a black and a silver model at least 4 years ago.
Carried one,  or the other , only a time or two.

Now I don't  use the key ring on knives over 58mm
Typically remove the ring and have ground several ring holders smooth for knives I like to whittle with.

But...

I noticed there was no key ring on the black one.
Checked the silver one and no key  ring either.
A quick research indicates the Pioneer came with the key ring and apparently I have two where the factory  made a manufacturing omission.

I'm fine with this,  just wonder how common this factory error is?

Swiss Bianco and other retailers have had special orders produced of key-ringless Pioneers over the years; I'm confident these are some of those.

Thanks
I think I bought the two Pioneers from "Knives Plus "
Not sure if that seller would special order product without key rings,  but I suppose it's  possible.

You are one lucky guy...  :tu:

Those darn key ring tabs are a PITA to file down correctly without risking grazing the liners or scales. I absolutely despize them on the 93mm's...

Isn't the Pioneer with no ring the same as the old Soldier?

Essentially yes.  Which means the world is your oyster if you're a keyringless Pioneer fan.

Much harder to find is the keyring Soldier...

Actually I was incorrect. Soldier and Pioneer have different shields.  Forgive my growing senility.
