Day 09
This evening I've used the Executive to open a net of logs...

(Image removed from quote.)

...the Zippo to light them up for a cosy fire...

(Image removed from quote.)

... and my phone to make this little slow motion gif of the flames...

(Image removed from quote.)
Nice & toasty  :tu: :drink:
They don't like it up 'em!

Hello
a bit late for my day 9 pic but it was a day of road trips - 3.5 hours, 2 hours and 1.5 hours.
not much MT action other than to open a package. One of the first downloads will clealrly be a Download/ setup of MTO.org.

Glorious pictures today. McStitchy's fire made me feel all warm and cozy and I'd love a hot toddy or buttered rum in that nice pewter mug.  I love that combo Sir Vic.

Day 09
I needed to relax a bit after a couple of hours in heavy traffic.  Decompressing in my yard with my pipe and a few of the items from my pockets.

DAY 9

This evening was a Skype call with friends, whom Mrs Surge & I had exchanged "Secret Santa" gifts with  :tu:

I used my GPT to open mine (overkill) but, as I was using the phone for Skyping, I couldn't take a shot  ::)

So, here is said GPT with my present (Pewter & Brass) posing afterwards  :D

Day 9

Not a lot of uses today, it is a computer work day. Maybe later  :dunno:

It came along walking the dogs in the morning. Wore the buff around my neck. Mornings are chilly here, even though it is way too warm for the season throughout the day. Today it was 15C  :ahhh
(Image removed from quote.)

Don't worry, I even carry tools, SAKs and Trads  just because they look nice  :dunno:

We managed to lose all the keys of a door at home so I had to pick it to remove the lock.
the SOG PPP helped fashion a flag lock pick from a binder pick handle.

I used a mini drill chuck 1/4 adapter as handle.

It took several tries but finally I managed to pick and remove the it.

Very creative

EDC 09:

Used the BAK to cut up and apple for lunch. The BAK was more awkward for this task than I expected. However, job done, apple shared with Mrs Nix.  :tu:

I guess there isn’t a lot of demand for cutting fresh fruit in the British Army

Buffs are great for that.  The weather has been crazy this year, that seems warm for there this time of year.

At least the package gave you something to look forward to after the road trips.

It does look relaxing.  I do think a hot toddy or hot buttered rum could make even better.

Agree on the Buffs. I found that as long as I have four points warm, I am fine in even extreme cold weather. The four points being head, neck, fingers and feet. The Buff takes care of the neck  :tu:

Bit of postage opening including some fire ants which I’m looking forward to trying.

Don’t usually carry the phone on my early dog walk, poor coco is now having to endure more stupidity from me :twak: :)

Day 9
I did use the Spirit’s serrated blade to trim a dog chew.  The serration work good, but the hook at at the end made it a little awkward.  But didn’t take a picture, so you get a picture from my walk of the Yeoman with a duck in the background.

She seems fine with it  :D

The FireAnts certainly took their time to arrive.
I've managed to light up some belly-cotton with it (a tinder that never gets out)  :D

That's a good movie btw, thanks for the reminder!  :tu:

And it works with alkaline (1.5v), nimh (1.2v) and lion (3.7v). So you have a great variety of batteries to choose from  :tu:

After (re) watching The Gentlemen (excellent i thought) I was in the mood for more Guy Ritchie so watched Snatch and Lock, Stock again McS. Excellent soundtracks on all of them, picked this CD up for A$10 which is pretty cheap. Don’t buy many cd’s since getting Apple Music but they didn’t have it on there.

Day 10

Refilling the IMCO lighter, I thought I did it perfectly and the lighter fluid didn't leak from the wick, but once I put the bottom cap back on, a small amount of lighter fluid literally just squatted out from top.

I was using the large blade from my SAK to pry/remove these leg raiser tabs, but it gunked up the blade like there's no tomorrow.  So out come the Countycomm pry bar to finish the job.

I think there's another thread talking about removing gunk, but this citrus based product from Australia works wonder. :tu:
