Day 21 of 30

3 weeks in today

This was the last day I will carry this combo until the challenge is over :salute:

(Image removed from quote.)

Tomorrow I will start with the duo  Very similar but different in several aspects  :tu:

(Image removed from quote.)
Very nice combo here!

Some real wisdom there. All luck is relative. Every day with a cup of coffee is a good day.   :tu:
:iagree:

DAY 21

Lots of winter storm cleanup... Having a Nitro-V fixie was fantastic.

Don't know what my folder is going to be... But my fixie is the TPK Unnamed (again). It's actually my only true fixed blade... I had some other options that would've been bending the rules a little, so I'm glad I never had to carry more than one fixie!

(Image removed from quote.)
Hope the weather will get nicer and the neighborhood stays safe thru out the storm.

Day 22

(Image removed from quote.)
I don't think I have seen this from you, is this some kind of Opinel variant or mod? :pok:

Day 22

My round 2 final hand allows an extra fixie and a SAK...so I have chosen the Brisa Bobcat as the fixie.  Love this little knife, great ergo.

Lately I have been trying to figure out a good way to in pocket carry my small fixed blade, the the utilclip is adjusted by my LM P4.

5 minutes into the pocket, it got drawn for a quick job opening a new printer ink.

[shameless plug mode on]

As for my SAK choice for the rest of the challenge, since I will be hosting the Mad max challenge in less than a week.  Yes, you'd guessed it--I am going to try to lug around and use my Wenger Giant as much as possible for the next few days and in the upcoming month.  Not only just for laugh, but I am going to challenge myself to bring use to this crazy tool! :woohoo:

Alternatively, for easier carry, I would probably be carrying Workchamp XL, Wenger S54, Vic XVAT or XLT for next month as well.

Come and join us! >:D

Good luck carrying that giant around! I'd love to join your challenge, but I don't have an appropriate knife to use.

Day 22
Another blizzard, so my hoped for new knives didn't make it. Instead I opened up some packing boxes. We're in the middle of a bit of a housing bubble - my realtor told me Saturday that he could sell our house for 25% more than he quoted me in Dec! So I think we're looking at listing it sooner than planned before the bubble pops.

Tet if you can sell your house for 25% more than you were previously quoted won't your next house also likely cost you 25% more than it was worth in December as well?  That negates any additional profit doesn't it?

Day 22
No use so far but I wanted to get something posted.

How are you going to carry the Giant and do you have a back support ready

Day 22
The MiniChamp opened a bag with fresh scones.
No pics though... I've for distracted by it   :D

And the Wave got a little maintenance. Initially the serrated blade/wood saw line was too tight, so I did loosen that up a bit. However, there was such a small drop of Loctite on it that the screws didn't keep that adjustment and moved freely then.
Today I've unscrewed it, cleaned the threads and put some fresh Loctite on it. It's all good now  :tu:

Btw, it looks like the Swiss Army was not as neutral as it seemed...

Yes that's true, but we're building a new house on land we bought 4 years ago so we're not buying another house.  That said, building materials are also up alot since last year, but they're not likely to go down so we might as well get as much as we can for ours.  :)

Definitely a capable trio.  I never really bonded with the Surge either.  It just feels too heavy to carry.  Good of you to give it another week to grow on you.

As a tool it is great but theres just something about it that makes me pick up something else, but then i do that with my wave too, it is heavy but once its in your pocket it's not so bad and as the day goes on you don't really notice it, i think i need to do 30 days with it sometime, i managed 7 last Surge challenge but had to bow out as i was doing another challenge at the time, i will warm to it in time i'm sure  :tu:

Now that you wipe out the Buck, I am looking forward to the Fools of April challenge! :dd:

Me too, i might even be able to finish it this time  :D  The 101 is the fixed blade 110 so i'm getting some practice in  :tu:

Day 22 Well it managed ok at cutting some wire, high tensile so it was a big ask but with a wiggle it worked out ok, theres really no substitute for dedicated wire cutters but it's good to know it will do it if needed, wouldn't like to do it all day though

Ja, the multitools do OK with heavy wire, but not great. The Surge, with it's replaceable cutters, stands out. I've had the Juice fail cutting barbed wire fencing that the Surge chomped right through.
