Day 24
Did some stuff with a tool.  I took cold medicine today and I've kind of forgotten what I did, but I took a glamor shot anyway.

I've gone a bit "old skool" (for me anyway  :dunno: ) for todays Batbelt.

I'm not at work today so here's my day off Batgear  :waving:

Today's carry.  Switched to the Adventurer for a change. I only have that and the Outrider.  I really must remedy that as soon as finances allow.  Also included a glamour shot of the Wissahickon Critter.

It is a joy to use.  Very comfortable knife.  My only complaint is having to draw it from the sheath with only two fingers then adjust it in my hand.  Rather that though than have a shorter sheath and risk losing a fine knife.

I'll redo this challenge properly when I have a dead month (I think poker face is next month) and when the missus' health is but up to where it should be. But I'll do my best to make time to see the month out with you gents  :hatsoff:

Walked to the store in the snow today (then discovered I forgot my money and will be going back tomorrow  :twak:) but the carry helped deal with the rubbish on the way!

Tools pulled out to show them a bit more, when tucked in they carry like they aren't even there.

Skinth: mini sharpie, pry bar, cadet, Lumintop Tool AA, Leatherman Style PS

'Biner: Lumintop AAA EDC, Boker mini tool, house key (with Olight i1r EOS permanently attached)
Check out my Youtube channel  for gear reviews, comparisons, and carry philosophy.

Day 26

d26a by Humayd a r Mahomedy, on Flickr

d26b by Humayd a r Mahomedy, on Flickr

using a Leatherman on another Leatherman
i got this wave a few months ago from a friend of my son's,and recently started tinkering with it,deceiding if i want to carry it.
i know a bit of the history of this tool, the kid's friend borrowed it [while keeping his own Leatherman safe] to lend to a labourer to cut fencing wire.
the jaws were a bit dinged, and it was sent in for a service after.
it was serviced as best as could be done at the AD.
i got the tool a few months after.
i wanted smoother opening blades,so,i've been tinkering with that since i got it,adjusting the tension of the pivots, trying different lubes, doing a few dozen open cycles.
fast-forward [and rewind.millenials will never know the struggle  :ahhh] to a week or so ago when i discovered that the jaws are misaligned [the labourer probably twisted as he cut],and it's an annoyance.
the jaws were very stiff as well,so i did a few 100 opening/closing cycles [slightly better],and tapped the fixed side of the pivot.it's much better, but there are a few small dents on the pivot.yes,i could have prevented that but i was frustrated and made do with a small ball pein.
i tried to gently twist the jaws using the Surge.
i'm being very cautious, since i expect any real force to snap a jaw.it didn't really work, and i'll have to live with it.and the sligtly bent saw. it's not my first wave [or second but we don't speak of such things] so i'm not inconsolable, and it has it's quirks i can live with.

Thanks for the kind words everyone  :tu:

And nice Sapphire Spartan (If I remember correctly?) Surge, though it looks like you ground the can opener down to more of a finer flat head? Though I must be mistaken, surely they wouldn't let you London types have access to any tools that would be capable of such a thing

I favour 85wt Nano Oil for my pivots  :tu:

And as a millenial, you're thinking of the wrong generation  :twak:

I grew up with VHS and then DVD and went through a whole big shift in technology. Now we have these kids that had smart phones in school and what not  :ahhh
