Day 21

Bacon, sausage, HP sauce and tea...

I'm annoyed I put the knife upside down though. Didn't notice until I'd finished eating...

Day 21

Morning coffee with the S52. I'm off on a six hour round trip today, so figured I'd snap a picture first thing.  Headed to the VA hospital for an appointment and it is NOT a knife friendly environment. Funny, they used to trust me with grenades and machine guns!

21/30

Thermos is full of coffee, lunch is packed,,,,,,,,, let's get this day started!
Nope, nope, nope.  You get up way too early for me.  I'm only up now because I got up to pee thanks to a prostate the size of a pumpkin.  Getting old is not for the weak.  I'm going back to bed.

cleaned up fine and still working

I've done that many times over the years.  Now I have just about everything switched over to Eneloops which don't have suicidal tendencies like alkalines do.

DAY 20:  My wife and I went for a hike this morning with the RangerGrip 78.  :D

(Image removed from quote.)
DAY 20:

Out at Conkle's Hollow State Nature Preserve with my oldest daughter today.
So nice to be out for the fresh air! :like:

I agree with AppleAndrew, nice pen collection there, Maxdog - is that a Pelikan cabinet too? We’re both pen fans too….. yet another exPENsive hobby!
Quote from: Maxdog

Rizio Il Ghiro, it is a generic cabinet a came across a few years ago large enough to house most of my pens, my other passion.  Yes indeed, it can get expensive!   :iagree: :like:

How can I do a multiquote?
Impressive!  :tu:

Comis, I do like the metal file/saw on my Swiss Champ, in fact used it to smooth out a spear I whittled.  Yes perhaps a Mountaineer would be a complementary addition to the S17 and Huntsman.  The Ranger looks appealing too with scissors, wood saw, and metal file/saw.

I think one of the most attractive aspect of collecting/using SAK is the fact that we could always find what we want, almost a custom solution to cater to what we need or desire. :climber:

Day 21

:ahhh quite convinced I’d taken the batteries out of this remote ages ago, obviously not. Anyway all’s well that ends well, cleaned up fine and still working

Part of the reason why I am partial to lithium primary, they just last longer and never leaks.

Wait...what?  There is a knife in this picture?

May have to keep that in check, I have seen a few relatives being hospitalized because of waiting to long to get operated/checked up, and it wasn't funny until well afterwards.

I like eneloops as much as the lithium primary, they too are great too!

Day 21

Wenger Matterhorn.  Another truly unique offering from Wenger today, most tools are less commonly seen from Vic camp.  Whistle, serrated large blade, clip point small blade, short philips, dual phillips, carabiner and unsharpen awl.  Definitely one of the more unique Wengers I own.

Day 21.

Third, and final, day of working at the airgun club.  Whole load of maintenance done and a brand new HFT course now in place.  Yet more cord cut and awl useful for unloading an unused magazine.

Be excellent to each other and always know where your towel is.

Day 21: I picked up a new Cold Steel Tuff Lite and used the PTC's blade to cut the tape seals.

I have an older black handle one, but it came in a used lot; and had a damaged edge and bent tip. I ended up blunting the edge; so will probably end up having it professionally resharpened. In the meantime, since the Mini Tufflite is not an expensive knife to buy new, I bought a new one; this time in red.

I love the Mini Tuff Lite. It's a small knife that carries like a small knife, but it has the ergonomics of a full-sized folder in my medium hands when open, and it can take on big knife jobs.

I also noticed that Cold Steel appears to have moved from California to Grand Prarie, TX. This may be their new parent, GSM Outdoors, however. I'm honestly surprised Emerson hasn't left CA yet.

Day 21:

Collecting a few wasp nests from the underside of the outdoor furniture.

Maybe Jackpine can confirm: I think wasp nests were used as wadding for use in flintlocks and cap locks. I'm gonna save these for that purpose, anyway.

You can use wasp nests for wading in a muzzle loader.  I've done it.  Probably not better than commercial alternatives.  I was not shooting live projectiles though, just making lots of noise and smoke for an historical reenactment.

Any wasps and hornets that build their nests anywhere near my house, and especially if they are on the furniture where I set my delicate and pasty white bum are to be terminated with extreme prejudice and all due haste.

Well, I figure I should give it a try.

I leave wasps be. They eat aphids. "The enemy of my enemy is my friend."  :D
