Day 23

(Image removed from quote.)
(Image removed from quote.)

This commander is from the Wenger Snife series, and after years of collecting it, I just realized it was finger painting on the knife scale today.   Little guy was really drawn to my colorful toy tool the whole afternoon, and keep asking me 'what's this?'

They're very much of their time aren't they? :)  You really have to have a lurid Swatch to go with it.  :pok:

 :D
Be excellent to each other and always know where your towel is.

I can see how it would catch the little guy's eye

Love those scales Comis!  I wish the good folks in Department Delemont would influence the Vic directors to bring some real creativity back into the line up like that!

Dummy moment,

I just sat in my recliner and noticed the Swiss Sportsman across the room, sitting beside the cast iron pig I posted yesterday. Glad I saw it because I'm  sure my heart would have dropped when I didn't find it in my tool box on Monday.

Day 23

Battery removal - promise I won’t hijack the challenge with calculators again!

Nice one! When I got into accounting, I almost went with the HP12C, but went with the Texas Instruments BAII Plus I had during some college finance classes back when I got my BS.   A friend of mine later gave me his 1990s HP 48G he used in engineering school, and I can program that to do basically anything I need. They use RPL, which is a real programing language, unlike TI.  Hard to believe it's 27 years old and still (mostly) working, and my TI84 PLUS Silver Edition crapped out with much more gentle treatment (and hardly any use; as I mostly use the TI36X Pro) after ten.  I still need to do the repair to the top row of buttons, as the foam rubber that supports them deteriorates with age and needs to be replaced.

Made a grilled ham, cheese, and pickle sammie for me lunch. The Rangergrip cut the delicacy open so I could sauce it liberally with the good stuff.   :D

The HPs were the Cadillacs of their day.  I have two HP11C that are 40 years old and running strong.

Day 23.

I'm enough of a Luddite that I still like buying CDs.  :D  Rather than scrapping around trying to grab the end of the pull tab it's always more satisfying to slice away the cellophane.

Nice one Gareth, I have that album on vinyl and cd.
I saw Rodriguez perform twice within a short period some years ago (around 10 years ago?).

That looks spectacular!  Special reserve Habanero sauce?  If you rounded that out with some ice cold Vernors Ginger Ale it would be perfect.

The Delemont Challenge GAW Pt 2
It’s been a great challenge so far and I’m sure as we head into the final week there’ll be even more excellent posts, pics and Delemonts to entertain us, thanks everyone  :hatsoff: :salute:

As previously hinted we’re having another Delemont GAW, this time just for challengers  :tu:  :woohoo:

You’re all automatically entered and I’ll pick the winner later in the week using the number you entered the challenge with, via random number generator as before.
Not everyone who signed up has actually taken part so they’ll be removed from the list, closest wins

The prize is this lovely EvoWood 10 with walnut scales

I still use my two HP 12Cs that I think are mid 1980's versions.  I'm so used to hitting 10 enter, 10 x,  that I have a hard time remembering how to use a regular calculator and just entering 10 x 10.

Very Generous of you Echotech. That is a beautiful knife. Please take my name off the list though, thanks.  I've received so much from this community lately that I'd prefer to give someone else that opportunity.  Good luck to you awl.

Day 23
Entering in to our final week and I had no particular use for the Swiss Sportsman today.  I like the locking main blade though and I wonder why Vic didn't make that an option on more models.  Here's the Swiss Sportsman with a Buck 140 PakLite skinner.

This really  is a great community and I too have been on the receiving end of great generosity.

For those that missed it, Nix very kindly donated this exceptional custom Buck 110 in the Fools of April challenge of which I was the very lucky winner  :salute:

It's always amusing to give some one an old RPN calculator and watch as they enter a number, an operator (+-x/), another number and then look increasingly puzzled as they search for the =.
